Wow! thanks Figg, very cool I will go looking there, those look great. I pictured the city on a hill but still that is very nice.I just finished  re reading the Lost tales Gondolin story, thanks so much.

Thanks azriel, I love that one too. In the blurry back ground is this golden greenish Chamaecyparis plant which made for a nice color contrast I thought.

Some great pics there folks, like them all.
Even the Faramir Renaissance one- fits with my notion that Gondor is similar to the Mediterranean region. Bit too Roman but still I like the concept.

Donato's paintings are very classically Italian, his version of Middle Earth is Latin rather than Anglosaxon, his models look Mediterranean, its a very different look and can be a bit disconcerting if you are expecting a typically Nordic look.

We actually have + degrees now, and they have forecast rain. And that's after only having snow from mid January. You might be right, maybe it's time to give up on this winter.
