I Cannot Rest

I worked very hard on sound to make it all as smooth as possible. No major pieces of musicarelost or altered however- its still got the same film score.

And yes it does mean the dialogue and the subs dont match up if you speak elvish fluently- but as almost noone does as a percent of world population its not a huge problem- and I'd rather watch knowing its not what they are actually saying but reading Tolkiens story and dialogue for them. Its a better story than the one PJ gives them because its Tolkiens and he is a far better story teller.

Wormtongue gets shot by hobbits when he stabs Saruman, in the book (but by then he had killed Lotho on Sarumans instructions, and if you believe Saruman, possibly eaten him too).

And I always thought Legolas shot him because PJ made a complete of arse of it by not including Scouring, and so there werent any angry hobbits about to do the job and Legolas was the only one in the fellowship to have a bow on him.

LOL, or that I am glad though they didn't include it. I loved it in the book, them coming back and the hobbits sees the change in the four of them and them being heros and all that BUT THERE ARE SO MANY ENDINGS! ALL THE F***** TIME! but I miss some closure of Gimli and Legolas. Gimli isn't at the coronation (I think) and Leoglas just.. gives Aragorn a gay smile and then there is nothing more to it. I'de love to see how they contiued their relationship and rebuilt Minas Tirith.

I don't speak it fluently, but I know little words like "lín" mine or his or whatever and "O" from, of or about and "man" what and "galad" and "estel" and it's nice when I know O man pedich means of what do you speak.

Meant to say I do try to use some right Elvish where possible- for example I took the elvish voice over where Elrond says Aragorns mothers last words "I gave hope to the Dunedain I have kept no hope for myself', when he turns up in Rohan with the sword, and I used it to replace the opening elvish words Elrond says in Rivendell at Aragorns' mothers graveside.
So you see Aragorn at the grave, tending it, and you hear Elrond say that before going on to speak of Aragorns mother as the scene normally does. Then it cuts away to Arwen with the sword reciting the verse about the sword that was broken (from RotK- I think!) and then I include the forging scene, Elronds ban on marrying Arwen, then the departure scene between Aragorn and Arwen from Rotk.

If you mean the Rivendell stuff yes- well theres all the Frodo Bilbo stuff too of course, but there is only one flashback in TT to Arwen in my cut and thats on the march when Eowyn asks about the lady who gave him the jewel- I cut to Arwen and Elrond, the bit about Aragorn dying and her being sent to the sea-not pure but got to work with what there is.
Arwen seeing their future son in a vision is the opening scene of my Rotk- and the scene in Rivendell where she slumps to the floor and Elrond tells her the life of the eldar is leaving her- that is now cut onto the scene where Aragorn looks in the palanatir and drops the jewel. It falls to floor, shatters, cut to Arwen slumping to floor.
It works really, really well there.

did he really break the jewel in the movie?

Id like to know what Gimli said to Haldir, when Haldir says "we havnt had dealings with Dwarves since the dark days" ? That bit isnt subbed. Then Aragorn grabs Gimli & says about his words being "not so courteous" ?

i like the fact that we don't know oh, and also, I didn't know men and elves spoke fluent dwarvish, isn't that a secret language only spoken by dwarves?

Yeah Dwarvish is supposed to be secret- they speak common when dealing with others- Haldir shouldnt have known what he said, nor Aragorn.

Norc they can click on the spoiler see it, smile, hide it safely away again!

Now I dont know what I have seen and not seen. I have seen the Mouth of Sauron in a version, but not any of those scenes in Fellowship, so maybe I only saw the EE of ROTK, maybe. I really must buy a dvd. Those eggs sound fun too, but I have seen the Jack Black one. wow they really put so much work into these things, its great.
Does anyone know if the music for the Passing of the Elves is on the soundtrack cd? I actually have it but as I dont listen to all of it, I may have missed it.
