He would make one hell of a Master- I hope it comes true!! (I'm praying to you here Moffat-make it happen!)

I just thought who I would like as the Doctors new assistant, if you can transfer characters from one tv drama to another, I would like Alice from the tv cop series Luther. Dont know if anyone is familiar with her? she is a sociopath and er, a murderess. She is also really cool. They would make a weird couple as the Doctor is normally the one 'humanised' by his assistants, but with Alice he would be the one 'humanising' her. which is odd.

Haven't heard of Alice from Luther, but her description made me think of Dexter Morgan. The doctor would certainly have his hands full there.

Well as there is only the xmas special which is relitively Pond free Mrs Figg until the new series, its rather tricky to find vids which dont feature them- especially as they are so damned popular!

Writer Toby Whithouse discussed the new companion: "To be honest it was probably more of a mutual decision than people would assume. These things tend to be kind of agreed, particularly the companions have a natural shelf life. I know a bit about the new companion, I don’t know who they cast and even if I did if I told you Steven Moffat would come out here and punch me in the neck. Steven is one of the cleverest, most inventive people I’ve ever met in my life, and so you know it is in very safe hands with him. Steven Moffat talked about monsters in Doctor Who during press coverage for Sherlock in France: "I always say new monsters are better in Doctor Who because you fall in love with monsters when they're new. One of the temptations, particularly if it's a success is to keep repeating your hits, which means you hear it again and again and again." [Le Village, 28 Feb 2012]

I'm wondering, if the Pond's go, than will River too? I know she and the Doctor are sweet hearts, but since they meet all out of order, that could mean that there "time" could be up right around when the Ponds leave.

Well the sooner the Ponds are drained and dried out the better i'll like it, he he! Bring on Alice I say.

More production news from the new series curtesy of Doctor Who News this time;

The two episodes currently being directed by Saul Metzstein have been confirmed by Doctor Who Magazine as episode two by Chris Chibnall, and a wild-west themed episode three by Toby Whithouse.

Ben Browder has been confirmed by Doctor Who Magazine.
Browder is no stranger to the sci-fi genre, having played John Crichton in Farscape and Cameron Mitchell in Stargate SG1. More recently he has appeared in Chuck and will shortly play Nick Naught in Naught for Hire.

The second recording block, which comprises two episodes by Steven Moffat, will be directed by Nick Hurran, who filmed last year's The Girl Who Waited and The God Complex.

Executive Producer Caroline Skinner commented in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine on reading the opening script for the new series: "Once I'm finally on the plane into Heathrow I re-read Steven's scary, thrill-ride of an opening episode. There I am, gasping and laughing away to myself, and kinda wishing planes had sofas - because if there'd been a sofa on this one, I would've hidden behind it."

Upcoming fan miniseries-Power of the Daleks- its a reimagining of a 2nd Doctor story that is sadly among the lost episodes but is regarded as one of the classics of the early era (the soundtrack survived but not the film)



No one like my (admittedly squished by You tube) animation?- Blimey you lot are hard to impress!

Star Wars Biggs is in Doctor Who! Ok thats probably not fair on the actor who was also in A Bridge Too Far, The Spy Who Loved Me, Batman, Mission Impossible, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Moonbase 3, Colditz, Cambridge Spies, and as Frank Oppenheimer in 1980's Oppenheimer.
But he has now eclipsed all that by being in Who - although, um, in fact he has been in Who before alongside Jon Pertwee (3rd Doctor) in 1972's The Mutants as the Solonian rebel Ky.

Who goes West (well Spain in fact but its doubling for the Wild West- if its good enough for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly good enough for Who- and better than a Welsh quarry!
