Well it shares with the Children in Need ones the air of a special event, a one off thing in Who.
And of course its reminiscent in feel of the 5 meets 10 children in need one which Moffat also wrote.

I thought Billie Piper was excellent as the Bad Wolf/interface, very ethereal and quirky performance, and she held the screen with John Hurt and thats no easy task.

In a good way or baiting-Petty-but-possibly serious way, Figgs?

I did think it was kinda clunky at the start (frankly every new who ep feels like that) and K9 should appeared but I'm glad they didn't go overboard with it though could have been a by the numbers greatest hits thing.

Rose after she absorbs the TARDIS energy and scatters her conciousness in time and puts the Bad Wolf message everywhere in time. Eccy's final episode.

possibly all three Twisted Evil  but srsly, I was a bit underwhelmed, just a teeny weeny bit.
John Hurt/Rose made it worth while, they felt fresh and interesting. Queen Elizabeth was crap, the girl with long scarf was scaredycat silly, the blonde chick Brigadiers daughter was bland and weedy, monsters a bit half heartedly monsterish. The bits with Tennant too jokey hokey, the children were predictably cute so all in all the best bits were to do with Clara, and Rose acting as agents of Good helping the Doctor make the right decision.

I thought having 10 involved in what was basically a classic series set up with the zygons was a nice nod back. It was their first appearance in Nuwho and they were doing exactly the sort of thing they always did in classic Who in a very classic Who manner- chasing screaming women through woods and doppelgängering people.
I thought the Queen Elizabeth stuff was the weakest part of it however, I didnt find the actress very engaging in the role and it probably got a bit too much time, but nothing like enough to drag the whole thing down -there was way to much good stuff around it for that.

Fair Enough Figgs-I thought it was great for what it was...but the problem was that was it it was...75 minutes BAH!!!

The whole 13th doctor looking for his home before dying arc that is suggested to be coming sounds cool...

I loved the shot of them all lined up.

Ecclestone did himself no favours he'll be asked about this for the rest of his career.

Yeah shame about Eccelstone- you'd think he could have come back for the one regen scene.

Tom Baker took the huff too after he left and he refused to take part in the 5 Doctors anniversary episode and later said it was a big mistake and something he regrets, I wonder if Eccy will one day feel the same way. (And great Tom got a second chance and got to say yes this time- thats very Doctor Who)

I think Tom was justified though as he was so typecast after doing the role to keep a certain distance to the series. And he certainly didn't have a great relationship with John Nathan Turner, who outstayed his welcome in my opninion, until much later.

I loved the story Tom told at a panel recently with the other Classic series Doctors that although the BBC usede his Madam Tussauds doll for publicity photos for The Five Doctors he was still paid for the privilege. Laughing

I thought it was going to have a lot of them using old film and making it look like they are interacting with Smith like they did with Clara and the first Doctor. I just imagined it would be all the Doctors re-wotsited digitally to look modern.

I just realized that I didn't buy a train-ticket on the way home from the cinema....
Obviously there isn't room for anything else in my head at the moment except the Doctor Laughing

I really enjoyed watching it in a public place, cause there were so many people dressed up as all kinds of Doctors:
I counted (rather small cinema):
7 Tom Baker scarves (+ 1 Tom Baker hat)
5 11. sonic screwdrivers
3 10. sonic screwdrivers
14 fezzes
and all kinds of funny shirts Wink
I didn't try to count the bow ties Laughing

I dont think thats technologically possible on a BBC budget yet, at least not convincingly, even the Claras stuff its brief, and you have to fit it round what the actor was doing and saying in the original footage which is always clumsy.
Not saying it wouldnt be great to see, but Id rather they didnt do it at all than do it badly.

So envious you got to see it at the cinema Semiramis- what was the 3D like?

This ep was kinda a f u to Eccles tho-every other doctor after him can live with the knowledge they stopped Galifrey's destruction, yet he still plays a pissed off veteran one.

Those Zygone things were pretty useless.

well, Petty, I don't think that it made that much difference EXCEPT - oh, except, for a little (brilliant!) intro in which the 11. Doctor told the audience to get ready for 3D and while he was trying to work out how to turn 3D on with his screwdriver the 10. Doctor appeared and told us to beware of things that might soon be stickin' out of the screen - like a big chin.
lol!
then 11 came back - telling us that he's just been to the 100th anniversary in 12D and that he can't see anyway where the fun in 3D is Laughing

And after that there was another short intro with Strax who showed us what would happen to people who don't conform to the rules in cinemas. Well, you can imagine the rest Wink

The shot where Clara rides into on the TARDIS on the motorcyle struck me as being one I wish I had seen in 3d- as well as the paintings obviously.

Yeah, that's it! Laughing
but he advised us to eat popcorn, cause the Sontarans like how we "torture those little maize creatures" and he reminded us that "popcorn can feel pain!"

Cannot watch the documentary... Sad
