CNN called Missouri for Romney.

I don't understand the focus on Obama's 'ground game'. I'd think everyone was hooked into media - perhaps it's just about convincing the right people to show up at the polls?

Basically the candidates just have to motivate their base enough to show up to vote. Most people know which party they'll support long before the campaign begins.

I cannot believe that the talking heads on ABC are talking about how "ominous" it is that the country is becoming less white. Unsurprisingly, nearly everyone who has been on tonight is white.

Wow, CNN is really trying to pick up the ratings. They just called the entire West Coast for Obama before the polls are even closed or anything has been reported. It's a safe bet, but still.

Idaho called for Romney as well. Iowa and finally Oregon called for Obama.

This will come down to Ohio, Florida, and Virginia as was expected.

Fox are conceding that Obama has won Ohio!

The numbers didn't lie, but I still have a big grin on my face. I have more than my fair share of reservations about Obama but I am very happy that he beat Romney. I'm also glad that this didn't come down to counting a few hundred votes in Florida given Obama's surprising lead in Ohio.

TIL: Bob Dylan is better at forecasting than most political pundits.

I wouldn't say Romney lost badly, though I'm very curious to see the final popular vote. I think it's just the quirkiness of the electoral college system that let it be called so early.
