I need to figure out who I can drag along to the midnight showing, though. I'm going to pre-order tickets as soon as I can but I don't think many other people in my family really want to be out until 3:30 AM just for The Hobbit.

Because its quintessential of Tolkiens humour and charm thats why!! Its a perfect example of how Tolkien gets his humour out of the juxstapostion of characters, words and scenario, without say resorting to prat falls, farting, belching or covering everyone in gunge to do it.
