Favourite computer games of all time.

My pc is a decent machine- but its not an ubermachine- its midrange these days I'd say- I paid just under £800 for it at the time- its probably more in the 600 odd price range now. That was still a lot of money to me at the time, but it has definetly been worth the investment I would say.

Having been a computer gamer in my youth, since home computers first existed in fact, and then spent many years on consoles, before returning to computers with pc I have no doubts pc is better for gamers- gaming its just so much more flexable and modular on pc.

Gaming can also be much more expensive on PC, as PCs in general cost more, though games tend to be cheaper. It all depends on preference. I personal find my console much more convenient and less hassle than my PC

Sony was saying that the PS4 will be able to over-power gaming PC's for at least a couple of years; I don't really buy it though. Consoles are cheaper and more convenient in the regard of price vs high end PC's, but power has never been their strong suit.

At least when the next generation lands, 7 year old hardware won't be holding developer's back.

No it won't hold developers back. Until, of course, it is 7 years old.

Got a new mod for Skyrim- Climates of Tamriel.
I was using realistic lighting, which I liked but this is better. Gving a much wider variety of weather- best way to illustrate this seemed to be to take some screencaps of the same view over the course of 2 days and see how the waether changed. Here's the result.

Who is honestly not connected to internet anymore? And while it is inconvenient for things such as LAN parties and such, I don't think this is as outrageous as people make it out to be.
And that doesn't really confirm anything, the guy was making the comments through Twitter and could have just been voicing his opinion on the speculation. Can't be sure of anything until they actually announce the thing.

So if my internet cuts out for some reason my console becomes a useless brick. It's not a question of connection to the internet, it's a question of reliable connection. My bandwidth is slow; What does that mean for me? The thought that I could be playing Skyrim or rather its next-gen equivalent and have my internet cut out for even a few minutes and that force me to stop playing a single player game is too much; It's another link in the chain that can break. Similar to the Simcity and Diablo 3 debacles, I don't trust that these companies can maintain constantly running servers at all times.
My question is why. What am I gaining in exchange for this DRM?
If it's the social aspect, they can stop right there. Xbox Live already does that in a way that isn't intrusive and doesn't require a constant internet connection to run anything. Are they going to try to implement that Cloud saving device? Not worth it if potentially makes the system unplayable.

It's true that we don't know anything for sure yet, but the implications of what that guy was saying is a little worrying.
A guy in his position who works for Microsoft and is near the Xbox division shouldn't be saying these kinds of things when we know next to nothing about the machine. More so, his comments were condescending and insulting. "Deal with it", he says. You know what, Orth, this isn't a piece of legislation or a tax hike. I don't have to "deal with it".
