Doctor Who [2]

I changed my mind, tomorrow. too good weather to sit inside

so I sat outside and drew Matt Smith. I've never done a portrait of him before :S

Not bad at all Norc for a first portrait. But no bowtie?!

Good weather is a fair enough excuse- maybe you can watch it when the sun goes dow...along the horizon.
If memory serves it had either a 6 or 7pm broadcast time originally. Probably 6 given the xmassy family vibe.

Moffat is executive producer on it and added;

'The story of Doctor Who is the story of television - so it's fitting in the anniversary year that we make our most important journey back in time to see how the TARDIS was launched.'

In other Who news some artwork has been released for the dvd release of the 3rd Doctor special edition of The Claws of Axos (the chap with the beard is the Master in case you were wondering and thats the Doctors assistant Jo Grant).

It's quite awesome how you can draw pictures of people, Norc, and I can immediately recognise them - skills!

Takes talent that does. I'm an ok drawer- but I had to learn it all and I am workmanlike what Norc has it base talent right there- portraits are particulary tricky beasts I always found. Norc seems to have a gift for them as well as her own inventions like her illustrations.
Talented and with her whole life still before her...its enough to make a person very crabbit. Youngsters today! Why couldn't you all be feckless like we were?

I'm glad you recognized at once, Ringdrotten. It's really a downer when you show someone a portrait and they're just "who's that?"
and Petty, I would like to see your drawings^^ I think the reason why I draw faces and characters is because I've always found faces very facinating :)it's just really fun. How you can have an expression, a story and a character in it ^^ Matt Smith (and Benedict) have very funny faces so it is loads of fun.

(though I see now, his eyes are very.. I dunno... :S )

sad thing though. The sun is actually behind the horizon now. It must mean summer really is over (though it is still not that dark, like twilight)

I've seen the xmas epsiode loved it ^^ espesially the bit about marilyn monroe could use with some more lnks

They will join Steven Moffat in a Question and Answer session after the episode, which will also include executive producer Caroline Skinner. My guess from that is the first episode will air the following Saturday, the 18th.

That I am not sure about Norc- it wil turn up somehwere I am sure- how soon after is harder to say-itll be available in the UK on the i-player shortly after transmission and it'll be on BBC America too-it will also turn up on i-tunes and places like that who have licences with the BBC.
I will try to find you links at the time, if there are any to be found.
The only other option would be a torrent.

The Doctors wife is the ep written by Neil Gaiman. I will be intrested to see what you make of it as someone relatively new to Who.

I tried watching The Doctor's Wife a few months ago but I found it a bit strange. (I like Gaiman though, or at least I really liked American Gods, which is the only thing by him that I've read.) I'd like to give the episode another try once I'm a bit more familiar with Who, though.

Nope, Netflix has everything from the first six series of NuWho.

Does it have the specials and mini-episodes?

I'm not sure, I haven't looked for those yet.

There should be 3 mini episodes post series 6- the first of which is entitled First Night, Last Night

I loved the doctor's wife. didn't know it was neil gaiman, but he is awesome! At least people tell me he is (stardust, right?) he's a bit nuts I loved the episode, did I say that next please ^^ also, I liked who the tardis picked Rory as the pretty one and the doctor was just like "what the hell" xD

Its one of my favourite episodes the Doctor Wife. So much for an old Whovian to enjoy.

Two parter up next- only these two and one more to go and thats you at the season halfway point- where Moffat in typical style took it off the air for 6 months before giving us the rest!!
