Low quality test render. My updated Tardis animation. Decided to make the camera more dynamic rather than just a locked off shot. SFX is rough as hell as its just a work in progress.
Just worked out to output that anim at even half decent quality is going to take approx 77.7 hours!

Rumours that when the new Doctor Who browser game is released the BBC are pulling the free downloads of their other Doctor Who games from their website.
Ok they are no the greatest games in the world (but they could have been a lot worse) and at least they have a decent story.
If you are a Who fan with a few gig spare on your hardrive I'd recommend all six.

Shadows of the Vashta Nerada
The Gunpowder PLot
(And I shall choose to ignore the complete lack of comments on my animation and or the fact it only has one like so far!
I suppose I should be grateful it has no dislikes, yet).

sorry Petty I thought it was from one of those professional computer games, so I didnt comment, I didnt know you made it, I like the twirly Tardis and the green landscape, is it Gallifrey?, its cool that you can get the full 3D effect, these programms are very sophisticated these days.

Less pixly is a fine term Mrs Figg.
The problem is that for that increase in detail I can add about 40 hours rendering time to the original 20 (if detail levels are not expanential it feels like it!

Series 7, big companion reveal, film talk, 50th anniversary news straight from the mouth of Moffat!

April actually doesn't know what she is—and yes, that's her name—but hopefully The Doctor can help discover who "made" her. If that's the right word. Which I think it is! She's something of a Pinocchio figure, with The Doctor as her Geppetto.
I know there's been a lot of talk about [the show] becoming too complicated, which I don't agree with. Kids are smarter than me nowadays. Have you seen their maths homework?! But we're nevertheless going to be making the stories a touch simpler this year. More episodic, really, like mini-movies. I've read a few scripts to a five-year-old, and they follow it fine!
The Daleks will be back, in all shapes and sizes, and they'll definitely have a keen interest in our new companion. I'm saying no more on that! There's also a brilliant episode coming up, written by someone I'm sure the fans will be happy to see making a return.
The whole David Yates thing is a strange issue, but he certainly wants to make a big Hollywood movie, which I've no objection to. It just needs to be done with co-operation from the BBC, and be a legitimate part of the show's 50-year history. It's a way off yet. I perhaps won't even be in charge of the show if or when they start shooting!
I can't reveal much (about the 50th Anniversary) yet, but you'll probably see some familiar faces from the show's magnificent history—that's hardly unexpected. But exactly who's coming back might be, because death's not always a barrier for storytelling these days. I refuse to be drawn any more on that!"

This could go either here or the Sherlock thread- as Mr Moffat is being honoured by BAFTA!
Doctor Who producer and Sherlock co-creator Steven Moffat is to receive a special prize at this year's Bafta TV awards, organisers have announced.
Recognising his "outstanding creative writing contribution to television", the award will be presented on 27 May at London's Royal Festival Hall.
Doctor Who producer and Sherlock co-creator Steven Moffat is to receive a special prize at this year's Bafta TV awards, organisers have announced.
The Paisley native won his first Bafta in 1991 for Press Gang and was further recognised for his work on Doctor Who and Sherlock in 2008 and 2011 respectively.
"Blimey! A special award!" said Moffat, "I didn't even know I was ill."
Moffat said he was "so thrilled" to be recognised again, "especially after two years of [working on] my two favourite shows ever".
Bafta chair Tim Corrie described him as "one of the finest exponents of his craft" and said the special award - presented in honour of Dennis Potter - was "very well deserved".
Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch is up for the best actor prize at this year's awards, which will also see his co-stars Martin Freeman and Andrew Scott go head to head in the supporting actor category.' -BBC

Very nice. Kafria I shall be extra careful in the future to make sure everything series 7 related is spoiler tagged on here (and to let others know please do likewise, if you forget I will spoiler it with mod powers!). That way you can still have Who related chat on past episodes ect without fear of ruining anything.
