This feels so human like. To me it feels more human that King Tuts golden mask.

Tut was never meant to seem human. But it is uncanny how life like this sculpture is, you wouldn't suspect the Egyptians would be capable of it from the wall paintings.

The thing with Egyptian art is that it spans over 3000 years, so it's not really fair to compare from one period to another. It would like comparing pre-Roman Italian art to 20th century Italian fascist murals. Because of the amazing lifelike quality of this guy, and because he's wooden and has survived, I'd guess he's probably from a very late period, maybe overlapping with the Roman Empire (?)
(correct me if I'm wrong here Mrs Figg. I'm a farmer, not an art historian... )
