A rough idea ( maybe ? ) of how prehistoric animals might have sounded like, this is scary enough me thinks

yes, after four days it is. i am still alive.
Re: Just...................whatever [8]
Glad it fixed itself.
Three decades ago, while I was living in West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer, we had a doctor whose job it was to look after us. We'd often be at least a day's travel away, so he had to create the proper mind-set to keep us from panicking when things went wrong.
He told us our bodies were more amazing than we had been allowed to realize by parents who would lug us to the doctor for any ache or sniffle. When things went wrong but weren't clearly critical, we should just take it easy, drink plenty of clean water and keep an eye on things. 90% of the time things would take care of themselves without any need for a doctor. That advice has served me well ever since.
Of course eventually you have to go to a doctor if things don't take care of themselves, and some things are clearly critical, but usually you can sit pat with a jug of weak tea at your side for nearly a week before seeking professional help.

What's the make up of your crabby attitude toward established medicine, Forrest? I don't disapprove of it, I just think it's overused.

As I'm sure you know the general trend of medicine now is to reserve antibiotics for last resort. But I think there's a lot of people tying up doctor's time when they don't need to for other things as well. People need to educate themselves on when to go in and when to rely on common sense and the internet. There have been times (like when I had lyme disease) when I knew better than the doctor's first instinct, but admittedly other times when I should have gone in earlier (melanoma).

i was kinda joking and referring to the US' insane use of antibiotics. you know.. for a common cold etc.. we're way more careful over here.. especially when it comes to those nasty bacterias that er becoming immune (?) against antibiotics. like... there is gonorea you can't get rid of... no thanks.. walk it off i say.
Re: Just...................whatever [8]
yeah, the US has improved on it's use of antibiotics, but still needs to toughen up on other things.

Some stuff there I didn't know. I remember my shock long ago to find out the hobbit names were not their actual names.

You are the mod of your own posts, Halfie. And if that isn't a life motto worth being written in three different fonts over the picture of a sunset on a beach, then I don't know what is.

Also, I'll be in Scothobbitland this Easter!
Fuzzy on the details, haven't had time to think about it, but Finrod's sister (Galadriel, obviously) is on the case. Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness (she likes Outlander A LOT) .

I may be mod of my own posts, but this particular mod sees no way to delete much less move that post. I've seen a delete button in the past, but don't see it now.
