Ah tears of joy, that is quite acceptable then.

Re: Just...................whatever [8]
I do cloud dives all the time - but at first I thought the guy in Azriel's video was crazy because of no break in the clouds. Turns out right against the ridge it opened up so he could see where he'd be landing. I didn't know where the video was from, so put it out on the Hang Gliding forums and within 5 minutes got the reply that it's Interlaken, Switzerland. I wanna go.

It's the closest to the dream of flying you'll get. Putting a fuck-ton of metal around you doesn't do the trick. And in the right conditions you can be up for hours - very stable, you just have to know how to land the damn thing and not get too far away from your field in order to do it.

Re: Just...................whatever [8]
Well, I think its amazing you must have been "wowed" the first time you had a go. Are you in a position to keep "flying" ? I mean are you in or near a good location & does Finance contribute to how many times you can whizz off into the blue ?

Re: Just...................whatever [8]
The up-front cost to train and buy equipment is about equal to a used car, but that's decades in the past. AFter that the major finance is gas money to drive: it's about 2 hours to the nearest site. I used to fly more often when near Washington DC, many more sites. Now I'm lucky if I fly once a month.

I have only managed to do that once over Rio... I love the quietness up there like flying in a glider and having no engine!
Having said that, current goal is to fly in a MiG 29 in Russia!

I watch a lot of factual TV when I can & this woman ? I love her. She's clever, easy to listen too & knows her stuff. I looked around but all people can focus on is that she used to be a man, ( yawn ) Ive watched her on "Abandoned Engineering" on the Yesterday channel & I think she should have a prog of her own.

I take it that was a tandem over Rio. If you really like it you can take lessons and get to flying your own, England's a superb place for it, lots of open grassland to launch from and land in. If you like to travel paragliding is easier to carry your own rig, but you don't get the same swooping feeling.

Yes, tandem. I think you commented about it from my video when I originally put it out there (about 4 years back).
It was fun, I prefer an actual glider though. I will let you know about the MiG in a few years!
