I think my fav Animal Man is one of Morrisons early ones- the Red Death, I think- about a guy who in the 50's, when everyone was getting amazing superpowers from various sources discovered a fallen meteorite- and got the power of death touch- which he discovered by petting his dog and killing it. So he figured he had not much choice with a power like that but to become a super villain. And now hes old and wants to die and he unleashes his army of crap 50's death robots onto the city.
Its funny, poignant and full of nods to classic era American comics.

Yeah, I remember that. Morrison and Alan Moore both do a lot of that kind of thing

Teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy comes out tomorrow.

They're probably going to hold off on letting us hear Rocket until the second trailer. Don't want to give away all the good stuff at once!

Chris Pratt also starred in the recent LEGO Movie.

At first I thought that was the 15 second teaser again, but I just watched that and it was pretty great. Needs more rocket raccoon though, dammit.

I'm still not 100% sure what to expect from this movie, but it looks fucking weird and fun as hell. I'm sure Petty will be there day one for Karen Gillan.

Another reason for me to go see the LEGO movie, then.

I'm thinking it's going to be a fun and funny super hero movie.

I honestly no nothing about GOTG other than this trailer (previously I knew only that it was in space and had a raccoon). This looks hilarious though. I suspect the people who hated the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 will be just as salty over this, but I loved Kingsley's Mandarin so rock on, Marvel.

Honestly the MCU has been a really refreshing break from the super seriousness of Nolan-era blockbusters. Don't get me wrong, I really liked the (first two) Nolan Batman movies, and I have nothing against grittiness in principle, but like all things it can and has gone overboard. Watching The Avengers on opening weekend was such a welcome change of pace and I'm glad to see they're continuing to inject some levity into their films.

Hey I resent that! I have never seen her in any other production but Who, well apart from those shots of her naked arse from that romcom she made- but that doesnt count!!! I, um saw them by accident!

wow.. she's awesome  and clearly she didn't really have to shave her head, though it probably made it easier to put on prosthetics.

I think I asked this before, but did you watch all of the Phase One Marvel movies before seeing The Avengers? Cause I'd imagine that movie wouldn't make a ton of sense if it was the first in the meta-series that you'd seen. GOTG, on the other hand, doesn't look like it's going to require much prior knowledge or feature the existing characters much (if at all).
