Games of any sort
We don't have a place to talk about games. So now we do. Anything, board games, roleplaying, console and pc gaming, flash games, whatever is entertaining you at the moment.
Personally I'm saving for a big year of (hopefully) quality gaming (all on xbox360- this laptop would struggle to run dos games!). Elder Scrolls Skyrim, Mass Effect 3 being particularly high on the wish list with LA Noir, Deux EX close on their heels.
Here's the trailer for Skyrim.

Re: Games of any sort
I played Oblivion occasionally, but really, the world is way too big, especially if you have limited time on the console. My biggest achievement on oblivion was finding Martin in the priory which took me ages! I always love the music for all the Elderscrolls games though, very epic!
Not really any games I'm looking out for this year, save perhaps, Sims Medieval if the reviews are favourable!

My favourite game for the 360 would be Red Dead Redemption, best game I've played in ages Recommended if you haven't got it already. LA noire is high on my wish list too, looks great

Got to agree on Red Dead, great game.
Playing Fallout Las Vegas right now, but getting a bit bored.
Saw this earlier, trailer for Dead Island, no idea what the game will be like but its the best game trailer (scratch that, best any trailer) I've seen in a while. Not for the little uns though.

Never was much of a zombie games/movies fan, but this trailer was fantastic.

Re: Games of any sort
By the way, ever played Fable? Not talking about Fable II and III, but the first one (the other two aren't bad either, but they're nothing compared to the first). Instantly fell in love with that game when I first played it It's not a very big game, but it's got lots of excellent humour and background history in addition to a great main story. It's an old game, though, made for the original xbox, so the graphics aren't the best, but if you can live with that it's definitely worth a try

I've just had a thought provoking thought. If there was a upset clown in Australia, would he actually be happy for a frown upside down results in a happy clown?
Of course, it still needs a bit of work until it reaches the standard of "Chicken or Egg" but maybe ancient philosophers of the future will be studying this mind-boggling riddle...

Surely just a rather scrambled clown as the whole of him is upside down1
And I'm not sure a frown upside down = happy, just another perspective!
(okay apologies but I have to test this too, even if this is the wrong place! friendly people! Tee Hee!)
(( on second thoughts that is a bit disturbing, what other words might have been changed?, what might peopel really have written?))

Only two other words have been changed so far, but they're really just the singular and plural forms of the same word. Hopefully it will become evident what that word is soon. It should be pretty obvious.

Re: Games of any sort
Commodore are launching the c64x! For those too young the c64 was the computer of choice in the 80's, competing with the zx spectrum (I was lucky enough to end up with both) it had a whopping 64k of memory and was 8-bit!
The new one is a bit better. Its basically a small pc in a copy of the original c64 case, complete with 'clicky' keyboard.
It will run win7 and have a built in c64 emulator (although I think they should include a Commodore Amiga emu too as winuae is a good program but a bit of a pain at times). It will have a dual-core Intel Atom D525 (normally used in notebooks) with a 1.8Ghz chip and nvidea graphics card and an optional blue ray player.
All for £364, ($595) which oddly enough means its £35 cheaper than the original was in the 80's! Inflation, what inflation!

Re: Games of any sort
we had a spectrum with the squashy keys and my dad would write the games programes for us, had loads of silly homemade games ( a lot of educational ones maths questions and the like) I miss the way the coloured lines used o move up and down at the side of the screen when games where loading, seemed as if the computer was working a lot harder to make the game work!

Re: Games of any sort
You should get yourself over to the spectrum link on the edits thread Kafria. A whole world of nostalgia ready to play -Horace goes skiing anyone? No? Not even a game of Daley Thompsons Decathlon? Surely?

Don't know if you ever played Grand Theft Auto Vice City on the Playstation 2 or xbox, it was set in the 80's and had this opening intro;
That game I was sold on from that moment on!
