Re: Breaking Bad!
As much as I would've loved to see another, or even then more seasons, I am glad they ended it.
""But it's better to be finished early and proud so that the fans and us say, 'I really miss that show' as opposed to saying, 'Is this show still on?' It's better to walk away at a high."
This is where most shows fail, and I'm very glad Breaking Bad didn't. Now I have two TV shows (The Sopranos being the other) I can keep coming back to without ever having to say "Why the hell didn't they end it here?". I should be grateful for that
As to Better Call Saul 2014 premiere - Wohoo!!

Re: Breaking Bad!
Yup, they ended at exactly the right time.
I still think that it was quite the coincidence that Dexter ended just a couple weeks before Breaking Bad did. One was way past its prime, the other went out on the highest note possible.
I'm excited for Better Call Saul, but also a little nervous.
I'm trying to get into the mindset that it isn't going to be Breaking Bad (and in many ways will be different), but I do expect the same level of storytelling, acting, music, etc.

Re: Breaking Bad!
I actually kind of like that Breaking Bad had such a short title sequence, but this was great.bungobaggins wrote:

Jesse's a fantastic character
Eldo, I liked that about Breaking Bad's intro as well. If it had lasted any longer I would've skipped it anyway, I guess
But I liked the full version as well

Re: Breaking Bad!
A great show indeed, I can't imagine there will ever be another one like it. If a show as good as Breaking Bad should appear out of nowhere someday, then I'd rather not watch it. Better to not have loved and spare myself the loss, I think

Re: Breaking Bad!
I can't sleep, so here are my favorite Breaking Bad episode endings. The endings that just made me go
and have stuck with me ever since. Spoilers, duh. (I decided to leave the final episode out of this, because it would have been too obvious.
)
Anyone else want to share theirs? I'd also like to do a favorite BB episode openings and then just all-time favorite moments.

- S5 E9: Blood Money:

Re: Breaking Bad!
The first one you posted had me go
as well, very unexpected
The ending to Granite State is great as well, the use of the main theme there is almost eerie
The third vid you posted was for me one of the tensest scenes in the whole series, I believe I had to change my t-shirt after that episode
2nd vid not available in my country, but of course I know how it ends - another great one
A few of my own favourites:
The whole thing with the fly in the lab is awesome, but it's an entire episode, and I can't post it all. But this scene in was a great ending to it.

A few of my own favourites:
- S3 ending spoiler:
You can't not feel bad for Jesse in this scene.
- Badass Gus spoiler

Re: Breaking Bad!
Great picks Ringo!
I'll be putting your "Badass Gus" moment in my top all-time favorites. "Fly" is a fantastic episode, mainly because it's just so different from the rest, and I love seeing Jesse and Walt just interact. Such great writing in that episode too, because...

- Spoiler:
- even though we might think that nothing really happens, there is tension as to whether or not Walt will spill the beans about Jane!

- Yeah, I was sure he'd do it and ruin their relationship, but he didn't. It was cruel when he finally did, though. How he ruined Jesse's life the little time they knew eachother

Yeah, the videos are great.
I've noticed how fond they are of using similar shots to convey a character arcs. It's neat looking at it all in retrospect.

Re: Breaking Bad!
Found this fanmade teaser today.
I love the choice of music. (Not a fan of having dialogue over it though.) And I'd like to see someone make a full BB video to Cash's The Man Comes Around. When I think about it, it's a really fitting song for BB. There are many episodes that have this apocalyptic feel to them. (One of the episodes is even titled End Times (!))
I think the "man" could be Walt, it could be Gus. It could be...
But I don't have the time, nor the editing expertise to make such a video.

- Felina Spoilers:
- Walt's return to Albuquerque in the final episode. That's probably the most apocalyptic episode, for me. Think about it, Walt comes back to settle everything and "clean house" as it were, much the same way the alleged "Second Coming of Christ" is supposed to be.
But I don't have the time, nor the editing expertise to make such a video.

Re: Breaking Bad!
- Spoiler:
- I definitely see what you're saying. Walt is coming back to 'judge' Lydia and the mercenaries to have vengeance for Hank.
Even though Walt is completely responsible for Mike's death, the way he killed Lydia and how it reminds me so much of Mike himself ("Goodbye, Lydia") makes think that just maybe Walt was thinking about Mike a little bit; he saved Jessie because he was like a son to him in an incredibly dysfunctional way and Walt knew how much Jessie respected Mike: The final nod he gives Jessie conveyed so much. It said, "You're free. Everything's taken care of. Go. I'm sorry." Mike's death was the final straw that ended their partnership

- It could also be "converting" the "non-believers" (Gretchen and Elliot) to his side and do his bidding, mainly by scaring them to death with a hollow threat.
I will never forgive Walt for Mike's death. If there was one person who didn't have to die, it was Mike. Or at least, I just didn't want him to die!!I'm glad Walt didn't say anything to Jesse more than he did. It was perfect.

Re: Breaking Bad!
- Spoiler:
- I don't think there was anything Walt could say to him at that point; a worded apology or justification would've likely come across as manipulative or deceitful somehow since the bridge between them is eternally burnt at this point, in my opinion. Walt's nod carried with it the implicit agreement that everything would be taken care of, meaning Walt was agreeing that he would be dead very soon; One of the things that worried Jessie when their partnership ended was that Walt would get away with it all. His death would put those fears to rest. That nod was probably one of the most memorable last words said by a character.
