That vid on the English language the history's complete bunk- no one did away with the Celts or you wouldn't have Scots, Irish and Welsh, Scotland was never part of the Daneland which was in Northeast England- just lots thats wrong, most of it in fact! Evil or Very Mad

Oh yeah quite a lot- most you just wouldn't think of- one of the most obvious being whisky is from the gaelic - uisge-beatha- to - whiskybae- to - Whisky- it literally translates as "water of life" Nod drunken

A 'smidgen' meaning a very small thing is gaelic .

'Smashing' is another one (weird one for me as it makes me think of those quintessentially English children's books the Famous Five) it comes from the gaelic- 'S math sin, meaning 'that is good'
