Re: the all Dog thread! [2]
Other than the fact that they're little furballs, I wonder if our reaction to animals also comes from the fact that we have to read everything from body language? It's not like talking to a kid who leaves you thinking half the time "what the f%$@ is she talking about?"

Beautiful. No wonder they're called man's best friend. Just looking at those eyes makes me go gaga over them! They can make us laugh so hard that we cry and tears start flowing from our eyes. They live each day to the fullest (something I'm trying to learn from them). They're wonderful creatures and lifelong companions.

Re: the all Dog thread! [2]
I agree, Rose (welcome, btw!) Dogs have grown on me a lot over the past several years since I started living with them. Particularly small dogs, which seem to be lower maintenance and are more fun to cuddle with (IMO). My stepmom is obsessed with Boston terriers -- she currently has two -- and they're precious.
I still love cats of course; my orange tabby (Fred) in particular is very close to my heart and we spend a lot of time together whenever I get the chance to go back and visit him. But even a particularly cuddly cat like him has a limited interest in playing or going for walks or that kind of thing.

Dogs are great, and I feel like I've spent enough time with my brother's cat in order to say that I am a dog AND cat person.

Hello Norc (wrong thread I know)
And happy birthday Leopold.
You are almost as old as the contents of my fridge (that I am still waiting on Mrs Figg to come round and clean )

Sometimes my cooking improves immensely once it's aged a few months. Many people don't understand the immense pleasure that comes from scraping off a layer of mold...and finding there's food underneath!
