Has someone tweaked that gif Eldo- thee seems more reddishnss in the scales tan I remember in the cinema- where there was some red but not so uniform looking.

Galadriels wig is not as nice as LOTR. its a bit weedy.

What the hair which was more beautiful than any hair ... that snared the light of the two trees, coveted by Feanor, he begged 3 times for just one hair, and some say it gave him the idea of capturing the light of the two trees in the Silmarils ?

Yep figg ,I agree. Nothing against the actress but, she doesn't cause me to fall hopelessly under a spell. Weak portrayal of one of my favorite characters of JRR. I didn't like her in LOTR either but TH Galadriel is just plain Weak.

I saw the movie again yesterday. Saw PJ. When I knew it was him I couldn't believe I dind't spot him before.

also.. Thranduil.. I dreamt about them all. Thorin, Legolas and Thranduil where in it... also people from Game of Thrones (with wolves) i dunno who.. it was weird.

Ainur. I actually liked Cate in LOTR, I think she got a good balance between, imperious, spooky, ethereal and merry. I cant recognize Galadriel OR Cate for that matter in TH.

I have nothing against the actress I suppose. She was probably just following directions... But for me the Spirit of Galadriel I expected more... I suppose they were big shoes to try to fill. I agree the TH portrayal was just thin and empty... If she doesn't have good lines though I don't know how much I can blame her for not being able to project Galadrielness with just some poses and looks... Tall order to fill

yes good point, but she looked very stiff and that twirl she did looked obviously staged. I dont know, in LOTR she convinced me she was an Elven lady, and in TH she just looked like Cate being 'actressy'.

Galadriel was one of the characters I liked least in LotR. And Celeborn. That horrible slow motion effect made them both look retarded, if I may use such a word Mad

Celeborn in the movies is just terrible. He's not exactly a prominent character in the book, but they could have put in more of an effort. The EE of FOTR does salvage the character somewhat. He gets a scene with Aragorn in which Galadriel is not present (and thus not overshadowing him) and he's able to speak without a monotone. Razz
