Gimlis axe vid was fascinating, I enjoy watching that sort of thing. And I did appreciate the work in LOTRs that went into weapons, armour, saddlery, costumes, etc, as it felt "real", people went to the bother of creating these things but, in The Hobbit, I lost respect for so much of it sadly, it felt "fake" & CGI'd to often for me to appreciate & enjoy. The realism was gone & that ruined it for me.

They do look similar, but I prefer The Hobbit one. The ST poster is set up to create the outline of the Starfleet logo, but I think TH's poster gives a sense of scale and physicality that is uncommon in movie posters.
