Its more like some scifi hologram thing Norc- that only works once in the entire film- why put on the orc gear to disguise themselves? They could just have hid under Sams cloak till those orcs had passed if the cloaks could do that. It makes no sense at all- although you are rigth Eldo- what the hell am I doing expecting Pj to have thought any of this through!

Not in that scene- they just sit by the road side and wait- if they had hidden under the cloak and waited they would just have been another rock- orcs would have marched right past and left them to go on. If the film made any sense that is!

It helps Carly if you remember the script writers didnt worry about how things might actually happen so long as it provides an extra dollop of PJ cool and/or needless melodrama.

The Easterlings surely would have seen Frodo ski-ing down the slope also ? he kicked up enough dust doing it. 
The "cloak" sequence looked like it was a bad bit of tarpaulin,especially when Sam/Frodo whipped it off. I didnt get to feel it was a "magic Elven cloak",
