No game brings ME to life in a grand strategy way as WOTR by ares games.

I have had allot of fun playing this lore accurate game and i would recommend it to anyone who loves board games or tolkiens world. It also has a large MP community that plays Tabeltop simulator on steam. Someone even made a mod so the pieces look like the movies.

Cool! I tend more towards tabletop RPGs than strategy games*. Just something about the adversarial nature of 2-player strategy games isn't as fun for me, but I've always heard good things about this game.
It is quite pricey, $100 on the low end on Ebay and BGG.

Do you have a board game group you play with usually, or just family?

*The One Ring RPG is a particular favourite of mine with its mechanical abstractions and based, earthy illustrations.

And now there was nothing but the roofs of houses, sweeping along like a great torrent of stones and rocks. Chimney-pots fell, and tiles flew from the roofs..."

28 minutes video on how to play! Laughing But it has a lot of components, I like the combination of characters and armies.

Yes, the one downfall is all the rules. But it is Tolkien's world in-depth, there is a lot to love.
