This girl. Short, fat, green hair, but a voice like an angel. The most beautiful voice I have ever heard.

A voice that good deserves better guitar backup. Of course when you are an amateur finding someone to match isn't easy, but she'll have her backup soon enough - the producers will haul someone out post haste to work with her.

That was lovely, she has a soulful voice. I kinda like people looking natural & being just themselves.

{{ Just watched the first episode of Des, based on the real life serial killer who murdered a lot of young men and kept their body parts. The lead is played by David Tennant and its a chilling portrayal in its understatedness. This is no Hannibal Lecter Hollywood killer, his portrayal as a normal, affiable sort of bloke, yet with something really disturbing lying beneath is superbly put across in both performances and script.
I havent seen the final two parts yet, so I'll reserve my full opinion until then. But so far this is a chilling, uncomfortable but gripping watch. }}

Sort of unlike Tennant to play understated.

I watched that Petty, saw all 3 episodes I wont say anything about it only that it was a chilling portrayal by Tennant & quite naturally done by him too.

{{ Finished all three parts and really enjoyed it, if enjoyed is right word.
I think what I liked best was how non-sensational it was. It has no gore or violence to speak of, the horror really comes from the reaction by everyone involved, the police in charge of the investigation, the bereaved families, the biographer even, in contrast to this calm, seemingly affiable man who committed these horrendous crimes.
After it I watched a clip of the real police interview of him and Tenannts portrayal is uncanny. }}

What can i say ? Tennant was dam good as Nilsen. I felt he convayed him brilliantly without any stress trouble or forced acting. Nilsen was amazingly obliging, seemed intelligent &, as weird as this will sound, honest ( to a point..... was he ? )

{{ Figg its not as depressing as you might imagine. As it doesnt follow Des during his killing spree, only from his arrest onwards, so its really the story of the police and their efforts to bring him to justice. Yes the interviews with him are darkly troubling for how normal and pleasant and calm he seems whilst talking about dissecting bodies and boiling heads, but the main focus of the narrative is not actually on that aspect, and there is no almost no gore or violence in it to speak of. Oddly enough the only complaints Ofcom received about it was the amount of onscreen smoking! }}

I guess frock is a more old fashioned word, probably 18th century when they wore frock-coats. Very Happy which I wish they would as they are very flattering.

I suppose it is a psychological cat and mouse thingie, still too dark and claustrophobic for me though at the moment. I have given up on a lot of TV series recently because I don't have the will to be sucked into other peoples misery. Like 'Save Me Too' and 'Gangs of London' just too heavy going.

I never saw it, only the sequel. Sounds like Unbreakable is from a better time in Shymalongdong's career.

Edit: Watched the first episode. Part-way through I was thinking that I was fairly done with the story. But then they introduced the idea of the police finding every victim and introduced the author, and this has piqued my interest back up again. I don't know whether I like Tennant in this role yet. I liked the innocence of his character, but now he's calling the shots with the author in an aggressive way that complicates his personality. I will have to see in later episodes if the character develops more organically into a believable whole.

It's not quite top tier television is it? The frequent ad breaks make it feel like something you'd just casually watch on tv on a weekday night after work.

Halfy, actually the more recent Split is surprisingly good. Smile
There are glimpses of the old success in there even now.
