Re: US General Election 2016
Perennial Libertarian candidate (and former GOP Governor) Gary Johnson makes his movie to pick up disaffected voters from both sides...
- Spoiler:
- No that's not an official thing of his.
Re: US General Election 2016
He's not serious about running for president.
He'll never get his forms filed on time.
He's a clown!
Voters will "come to their senses" by the end of the summer.
His ceiling of support is 30 percent.
He'll get bored and drop out before Iowa!
Voters will "come to their senses" by the end of the year.
His ceiling of support is 35 percent.
It's just stupid, poor, white people supporting him!
Coalescing around one candidate will block his path to the nomination.
His ceiling of support is 40 percent.
There will be a contested convention.
Wisconsin is his Waterloo!
His ceiling of support is 50 percent.
He only won in the northeast because he's from that region.
Indiana is his Waterloo!

Yes, Trump can most definitely fuck off.

I think he was just encapsulating Trump's triumphant feeling about the world right now.

have to say I'm glad Trevor Noah has kept up the Trump pieces. I think other comics had already reached saturation and dropped the ball.

That was a big F You to all the political pundits and wannabe wunderkinds (Nate Silver) who dismissed Trump outright and even then when he was gaining traction. Hence the paraphrased dismissals above the "F You."
You guys can (have) attack(ed) Trump all you want, I don't give a rip. What's more you can think little or nothing of me for supporting him and I couldn't give a fuck.

Re: US General Election 2016
Despite all the math that shows he can't win a general election, he's defeated math before and may well again. The Queen may be the only way to stop him.

Re: US General Election 2016
Now that he's the presumptive nominee, Trump is already changing statements.

Unlike many people, I think leaders that are willing to change with circumstances is a good thing. Perhaps we will begin seeing more of the liberal Trump of his younger years. I think much of his current base would actually welcome that as well.

You're right, by November he could actually end up running to the left of Hillary!

Re: US General Election 2016
{{Not for the first time something Trump has said has me scratching my head as ot what he means by it.
According to Fox - 'his tax plan, which now includes a tax break for the country’s top wage-earners, would likely be different if he becomes president, considering it would likely need support from Democrats as well as Republicans on Capitol Hill.
"By the time it gets negotiated, it's going to be a different plan," the billionaire businessman said in a pre-taped interview that aired Sunday. "On my plan, (tax rates) are going down. But by the time it's negotiated, they'll go up."
What? Ok so right now he is promising Republican voters he will cut the tax rates, but he is also telling them that by the time the deal is done, they tax rates will actually go up? Admitting defeat before you even start negotiation doesn't seem very Trumpian.
Or is he saying it just to reassure democratic and independent voters- in which case it reads like he is saying one thing to get Republican votes, but whispering behind his hand to Democrats, 'but don't worry when I become President it'll actually be the complete opposite that happens.'
Can anyone help untangle what Trump is saying here? Or what audience its aimed at? }}

He's just going with what will work. Businessmen have to be pragmatic.

Re: US General Election 2016
Businessmen have to be pragmatic.- Halfy
Yes, but there is pragmatic and then there is telling everyone that you are going to tell them one thing but you really expect the result to be the opposite thing. That's not pragmatic its giving your hand away before you start, its conceding defeat before you negotiate a single word of it.
Should such thinking be aplied to all his economic statements?- 'Mexico will build the wall' (behind hand) 'no they wont we will!' 'We'll get the best deals with China and Russia' (behind hand) 'no we wont they will get better deals than us really'- how long does he survive if he u-turns on everything he has promised that got him this far?- and how can you trust he wont u-turn on those things when on such a major policy platform as cutting taxes or not he appears to be saying two things at once to two different audiences?}}}
