It got my sister Arcade Fire's The Suburbs for Christmas. I've been listening to some of the tracks and really enjoy it! I don't think I would have liked it as much back when it came out, but either way, it's pretty darn good I think.
And I suppose that's pretty obvious. I mean, it's very popular and received great reviews.

It's in a completely different category than the Bach fugues.
There is so much more emotion in the Große fuge.
There's also a fugue at the end of Op. 110.
And of course there are other instances of fugal writing by Beethoven that aren't necessarily marked "Fugue."
