Also 15 degrees and people walking around in shorts, not sure I'll get used to that in March.  Shocked

Yeah, that seems to be the way of it here too.

Probably because we never had a proper winter, so there's little residual cold.  Shrugging

Skiing? Nice. Very Happy  I'm slightly jealous, though I'm not sure I have a right to be as you apparently still can go skiing here if you go high enough. Though there are some things to look out for.  Shocked

What is the bird in the last picture sitting on? It looks like a large rock, but too large to fit in with the town setting of the other pics. Or am I overthinking this? Shrugging

The picture is taken looking upwards, its the rounded corner of a wall eroded by wind and rain (probably been there anything from 50-100 years or more).

I see.  It was the moss that threw me, I just assumed it wasn't a man-made structure because of that.  I suppose all the rain you guys get contributes to the moss growth. Razz

I see cobra-head street lamps have colonized across the pond. Movie location scouts and set dressers consider then to be the bane of their existence. One lamp, and all charm and quaintness is destroyed.

'I suppose all the rain you guys get contributes to the moss growth'- Eldo

Yeah if you look at the roofs on the first picture you will see the green of the moss growing on their tiles.

'I see cobra-head street lamps have colonized across the pond.'- Halfwise

Those are relatively new additions- they are slowly replacing all the old ones with those ones- they are low light pollution street lights. So you can still see the stars at night.

'Good to see you had some proper Scottish weather'- Blue

Been like that- grey, damp and misty for about a week now  Mad

I also was out in the glorious rain today. Went to a small town near me called Lewes. Its a very old town & has quite a bit of history, some gruesome. High up on a hill, over looking the town, is a stone memorial dedicated to 100s of Lewes martyrs who would not renounce their faith, from Protestant to catholic so, poor blighters were burnt at the stake as a punishment and warning. Anyway, that was long ago, 1555, when "Bloody Mary" came to the throne, I just thought Id put this up for Petty really ? seeing as he's fond of a barrel of Buckie a day ? Lewes has its own brewery.
