Re: Music [2]
I was comnpletely unaware of this album, while I did know of the artist, and it kind of blew my mind on hearing it. There are some lightweight songs on there, and I think I only really like about 6 or 7 of them, but those 6 or 7 are just great.
First song is one of my favourites, so one can of course listen to just that if one wants.

Haha, yeah. And he's got a vocal range to die for. It all makes me a bit jealous, really. Vocal range always does that to me though.
Love the bassist too. Very springy.

Re: Music [2]
This flirts with greatness, I think. Though I'm not sure it get's there. But as it's just a demo, I guess one should give it the benefit of the doubt.

Here are two more originals, also released for free on the internet between albums.

Love that song. He apparently wrote it during the Let it be sessions, though with different lyrics, rewriting it and releasing it as Mind Games.

It is rather nice, isn't it. Though I find the idea of putting songs of that quality up for free on the internet like they were nothing special a bit preposterous.

Re: Music [2]
AC/DC was my favorite band growing up, and Black Ice was pretty good for any band in their fourth decade, so I'm looking forward to this. Shame about Malcolm Young, though. I hope he's not too sick.

Re: Music [2]
I lived with an Australian a little while ago, and she was relating internationally known australian music to a third person and was having a bit trouble coming up with names. She didn't even remember ACDC, but had a real "Oh, of course." moment when I mentioned them. Seemingly their Australianness is something that even Autralians tend to forget.

Re: Music [2]
we're currently playing this in the string-orchestra, it has a lovely viola "solo" (part) in the beginning very fun to play.
we also play this in the sinfonietta with a HUGE choir!

The banjo intro to "Rainbow Connection" is one of the great moments in music history.

The first Muppet Movie is almost in the same league with the first Star Wars movie in the way it embedded itself in a whole generation's conciousness. And music was a big part of it.
