Creative corner split out?
You know, we've had creative corner hidden under arts and entertainment, but it has its own set of threads. Shouldn't it be split out to stand alone? right now it's at the top of Arts and Entertainment, but when looking at the whole board it's overshadowed. I think it should be a separate "other topics" category, on the same footing with Arts and Entertainment, Off topic, Serious forum, etc.

Re: Creative corner split out?
Not a bad idea, considering it has 6 pages worth of topics/stories. I vote yes

why would anyone elect to sleep on a rock hard surface, with the sure knowledge your nooks and crannies are not adequately washed? add the extra stress of being eaten by passing large mammals in the dead of night, and thats my idea of inferno.

Bingo. Camping gets you right where you want to be at a fraction of a resort cost.
Plus campfires are way cool. And it's so totally wrong to walk away from a campfire for bed and into the electric lights and inside non-natural smells and sounds.
I want crickets and tree frogs when I sleep after a campfire and stars. Not some damn whatsit buzzing or glowing at me.

yeah right u can wake up to that from the comforts of you bedroom and leaving the window open just ain't the same thing, sweety.
Re: Creative corner split out?
it is the same for me, only my walls are thicker than a tent and I dont have to sleep with my head two inches from smelly muddy boots. I dont have to shit in the bushes in the middle of the night, with an Owl.

Re: Creative corner split out?
Well, you can wake up to it from the comfort of your bedroom IF your house happens to have such a view, which very few do. And it would be the same one each time. Or you can pay out the wazoo for a resort. I'd rather camp.
Going into a rustic cabin from a campfire is almost okay, if within walking distance. But you don't get crickets and tree frogs where most people live. And you should never, EVER get in a car to drive away from a campfire. Ruined the whole experience right there.

Re: Creative corner split out?
I wish I was the sort of person that bounds out of bed and bounces around doing energetic stuff, but I am not. I like to settle down with a coffee and a paper in a warm cozy bed, for hours. All that chilly, hard, skaggy, bleary eyed camping stuff makes me nervous.

Re: Creative corner split out?
You need to know that if you don't bound out of your bedroll all the clouds will evaporate and you'll miss the cloud dive.
Rustic cabin is okay if it has NO air conditioning, no bright lights. No stereo. It has to feel like a shelter from the elements, not a dividing line.

Re: Creative corner split out?
I'm debating. An astronaut gave it mixed reviews on reality, but still thought it was a good movie.

Sounds perfect Norc. The crackle of wood, eyes fighting to sleep as you watch the sparks from the fire spiralling up into the crisp air above you, then snuggling down in your warm bag still aglow with the nights buckie
