The cafe looks quite nice. Can you have the afternoon tea in the garden?

Oxford certainly has an atmosphere you find hard to get anywhere else. Also, I think, the TV series "Inspector Morse" did a fair amount to endear Oxford to tourists. In the prog it was always a sunny summer, red geraniums, sandy limestone buildings, Barrington Phelungs music Very Happy ( the odd dead body) You can practically smell book pages & Academic gowns.

yeah I love Inspector Morse I love you it has a special atmosphere. I was truly happy in Oxford, its full of weirdos and I could wear long floppy velvet skirts without anyone sniggering.

I wanted to get a tweed jacket before I went Laughing

But I'll definitely check out those places Figgs! The Botanic Gardens was something already on my list. I LOVE gardens, I've got one here in Bath that's quite nice, but not very botanical!

I will find Buckie. It's on the list of things to try. I might ask one of the English students I know where to find it pub

A local supermarket should have some in the wines and spirits section.
You have decent chance of finding irn-bru in there too in the soft drinks section- but for the real connoisseur its not the can or the plastic bottles you want, but irn-bru in a glass bottle- but a push any one will do (just dont get diet No )

Well its luminous orange and quite a few countries ban it from being exported there. Its the only soft drink to outsell coca-cola in Scotland (and that did, and possibly still does, make Scotland the only country in the world where coke isnt the no1 brand of soft drink).

I've never tried Irn Bru (I think the colour puts me off a little-I end up picturing sugary rust water) and I'm not overkeen on fizzy/energy drinks in general, though in terms of suagary Scots stuff I can vouch forTunnocks Teacakes/Caramel Wafers yum. Brits have certainly perfected the art of sickly sweet addictive sugary goodbadness...

Well actually, police testimony would normally trump plebian testimony for a parking fine. I know this from sad experience. I think someone just got amused enough to let it go.
