I have a bad feeling about threads like this. These things lead on to idle gossip, banter and thinking about things that are usually far beyond the intellectual capabilities of women. But I guess as long as no one goes beyond the common womanly parameters and end up looking silly... Hmm... I mean, I guess a modern woman needs to adjust... Now, who's up for making a nice batch of scones for when the Menfolk get home from their well deserved steam-off at the pub?

Scone making brings up wonderful memories for me. Sifting the flour, adding water and a little salt, rolling out the dough, and waiting for Father to come in from his Manly duties so we can have afternoon tea... And blackberry jam making in the Summer! The smell of fresh plucked blackberries... aaaah... Simpler times - when a woman knew her place. Better times. Our Menfolk were happier then.

My boyfriend's a Primary School Teacher... why couldn't he have been something more Manly? And he doesn't open doors for me - because he thinks I'm equal. Mind, I probably am equal, him being so metrosexual. Personally, I prefer manly men like Orwell, Halfy, Chris and Petty - I'm not into your New Age metrosexual Dave types. I think I might drop Grant. Macca is far more muscular. He even has calluses on his hand - from doing Men's-work, he tells me. His right hand. The one he holds his hammer with.

My Wisey is left handed - but you don't get calluses wielding a quill. I wish he had calluses sometimes, like his nephew Biffo, who has the most marvelous calluses. On both hands. He does spend a lot of time down the mines in the company of Manly men-hobbits, mind. I wish I could down with Biffo some time and see what real Men-hobbits do in deep dark places hidden away from the view of Women-hobbits.

That's the trouble with the modern Woman's perspective, Porgy. In olden days, women let their Men think they ran the place and did not pry into Man's Business (as we called it then). Man's Business was rather sacred in a way, because, in the beginning, we didn't know that it was all about getting drunk, talking about sport, and having sword fights with their penises. I think we were better served by our general ignorance to be perfectly honest.
