yeah, but where i come from, when we say lol, we don't actually mean rolling on the floor laughing. to our ears it sounds so ridiculous that we use it in a sarcastic/ironic/even a bit rude way.

I use "lol" or "haha" sarcastically too. It all depends on the situation and my mood at the time.
