Interesting arrangement of 'I am the Doctor'- for orchestra- now I assume the person who made it doesnt just happen to have an orchestra and has done it with some fancy software- but I like their arrangement, theres a couple of dodgy moments but overall well worth a listen.

the arrangement isn't that bad. but it needs a real orchestra to bring feelings into it. or else it sounds like cybermen from the elementary school's marching band.

I know what you mean Norc, but it was more how he had arranged the pieces that impressed me than the 'orchestra' sound.
Id love to hear his arrangement played by a real orchestra though.

Series 7B news- specifically on the Neil Gaiman episode-

- The BBC have announced that the Cybermen will feature in the second half of the current series, appearing in the penultimate episode, written by Neil Gaiman.
Tamzin Outhwaite (reported last roundup) has also now been confirmed for the episode, and will be joined by Warwick Davis, whose sci-fi/fantasy career includes playing Wicket in Return of the Jedi, the titular role in Willow and the Leprechaun films, and Professor Flitwick/Griphook in the Harry Potter films. On television he has most recently been seen as "himself" in Life's Too Short.
The two are joined by Jason Watkins, whose is also no stranger to sci-fi/fantasy, having played the vampire leader Herrick in Being Human; other credits appearances include Lark Rise To Candleford, Little Dorrit, Psychoville, Dirk Gently, and can currently be seen as Gavin in Sky's Trollied.
Steven Moffat said:
Cybermen were always the monsters that scared me the most! Not just because they were an awesome military force, but because sometimes they could be sleek and silver and right behind you without you even knowing.
And with one of the all-time classic monsters returning, and a script from one of our finest novelists, it's no surprise we have attracted such stellar names as Tamzin, Jason and Warwick.
The episode is directed by Stephen Woolfenden, with the guest stars described as "a band of misfits on a mysterious planet..."
The writer himself has been busy with rewrites of the script, teasing away on Twitter. As reported last week on the Wednesday he said "Amazing hectic couple of days & stressed Doctor Who post-table-read rewrite in progress. On BBC legal advice Lampwick is no more."
On Thursday, he continued: "back on Doctor Who script. Only 5 pages to trim before dawn. They start shooting it on Wednesday. They need the script now. There. It is FOUR pages shorter than it was this morning. It has been sent to the BBC. And I am going to bed."
Finally, on Friday: "I believe that we've just locked my Dr Who script. I probably won't have to write it again until we need new ADR dialogue once it's edited." to which executive producer Caroline Skinner retorted: "Ha ha!! A locked script is an alien concept on Doctor Who.... :-)"
On this morning's announcement, he added: "I saw my first Cybermen watching Moonbase, as Jamie thought the Piper was coming for him (scary). Then Tomb of the Cybermen terrified me. And on his version of them being scary? "I hope so."

I just watched Tomb of the Cybermen the other day- I do hope Gaiman has restored the Cybermen- I didnt like the RTD era ones- with them stomping about in armies, thats only one side to them- it sounds like they are trying to get back to the more creepy use of them in the classic era.

Colin Baker (6th Doctor) is to be one of the contestants on this years 'I'm a Celebrity, Get me Out of Here'.
For those who havent encountered this poor excuse for television- its a psuedo reality show where celebrities perform trials, like eating live bugs, or rhino testicles, and where they gratuitously shoot the good looking celebs in a 'jungle shower' - its real class stuff. Needless to say therefore its hugely popular.
Quality Saturday evening family entertainment.
A new low for an ex-Doctor I feel.

New Who book out, big photo filled coffee book thing- dedicated to Barry Newbery who was set designer and prop maker for the first 5 Doctors.
I know old Who gets a lot of flack for dodgy looks and effects- but considering what they had to work with budget wise and time wise some of the work Newbery produced was nothing short of miraculous at times- particularly his set designs.
And he created iconic looks that have remained ever since- like the Tardis interior designs.

New look Cybemen!
The cybermen have had a redesign- a good idea in my view.
Classic era Cybermen were from earths twin (doomed) planet Mondos.
In NUwho the cybermen were invented by a mad human scientist Lomas in an alternative universe- which was then closed off- so there has always been some question over where the rest of the cybermen in NUwho are supposed to be from (if they are classic era how come they looked just like the alternative universe ones?).
Moffat era Who partly addressed this by at least removing the Lomas logo from their chest plate, implying they were somehow original cybermen from the main Who universe.
But now it looks like we are getting proper Whoverse cybermen from Moffat.

And had a nasty habit of turning up right behind you without you noticing.
Quite hard for the Nuwho stompy, big legged cybermen to do really.
The new ones hark back more to the originals- the suit is much closer and tighter fitting, the slot like mouths of the originals make a return and they look a bit less stompy this time out. With Gaiman at the helm writing the cyberman episode it should be fun to see what he does with them. As I suspect this is Moffats relaunch of cybermen in more than just visuals.
In spoilers in case you dont want the new look ruined before the episode airs next year.

Anyone near Chicago? Theres a Who convention there 23-25 of November- with Sylvester Mccoy and Sophie Aldred (she played (in fact still does) the 7th Doctors main companion, Ace).
