Re: Movie theme songs
Well, throughout the course of Pottermore you "explore" scenes based on each chapter of the book. It's actually one of the weaker parts of the site but there's a lot of nice artwork and you can click around and find JKR's extra information about the world of HP. When you get to the chapter where Harry is sorted there's a Sorting Hat in the background and then you fill out a questionnaire (and not where it's extremely obvious what each option will result in you being Sorted into; some of the questions are pretty out there) and then the site tells you what house you fit into. Sometimes it gives you a choice of two (I was given the option of being Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff but I've identified most with Ravenclaw for a long time). It was really fun, especially for the nostalgia of wanting to know which House I'd be in.

Re: Movie theme songs
It was supposed to open back in October but they keep delaying. I think the site was really unprepared for the amount of interest they've received (though I can't imagine why; it is Harry Potter). When the beta first began the site was down due to traffic overload more often than not. There used to be a page where you could sign up for e-mail updates and be notified when registration opens but I can't find it. I don't think anyone knows when it will open, but I'm sure the Pottermore Insider will be the first to report when it does.

Re: Movie theme songs
I love so many! But these are my favorites (besides LOTR)

One of my favorites (both the song and the film) from recent years: Trent Reznor and Karen O's cover of Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

How good is this Ennio guy. This brings tears to my eyes, and of course it has the lovely Claudia Cardinale

Re: Movie theme songs
There's so much awesome stuff on this page - love all the Ennio Morricone vids, Chris! Ennio Morricone and Sergio Leone is the recipe for epic. And Golden Brown, never knew it was in a film, great song. Maybe I missed it, but in any case, I feel this belongs as well (the song starts at 0:45, but the clip is well worth the watch for those who haven't seen the film - it's epic
):

These are great too (I thought they had been posted before, but perhaps that was back on the old forum?):

Re: Movie theme songs
I still need to watch The Dollars Trilogy and other Morricone movies (though I've heard a fair bit of his music from Tarantino
), but I've heard and really enjoyed Ecstasy of Gold in Metallica concert videos.

Re: Movie theme songs
The Dollars trilogy is indeed a must-see for any Western fan, Eastwood fan or movie fan in general
If you like Westerns, you should give "Once upon a time in the West" a go too, it really is a great film.

Re: Movie theme songs
All four are on my list of classic movies to see, although (as Petty and Figg can tell you) that list is pretty long and shrinking very slowly.
