She had a great voice.
It's a shame what the early Wizard of Oz fame did to her.
She could never really escape it.

it was probably more the booze and drugs wot got her, unfortunately I think having a tragic life sometimes makes for better singers. Edith Piaf and Callas spring to mind.

I don't listen to music at all, so I 'll have to say my mates when they are drunk on New Years, very funny and slighty scary....

He's too much of a studio creation for me.

Though it's nice to hear that you picked a fjordlandian. Maybe I'm more patriotic than I thought.

Re: favorite Singer
If you were asking me Norc then yeah, I have never been into music, nor have I ever been interested in getting into it.
Never been to a concert, don't own an MP3 Ipod etc, and I couldn't name you more than half a dozen songs, I only really listen to music at Christmas.
I used to really annoy my teacher at school (music 'lessons' were compulsory for years 7-9 at school) because I'd instantly forget/loose interest in the subject by the next lesson.

And I like Ville Valor, from H.I.M
As for Aha, I still sing along to their music, & I think Morten does pretty well for his age ! can still hold a note ! ( & is still "hot"!)

Re: favorite Singer
tell u a secret. i am terrible at searching up music, bands, artists etc. and i keep forgetting song titles and band names, awful at connecting the artists to the song and visa versa, and well.... i am good with composers, sort of, but it's honestly nothing to brag about

I don't really mind him, Azriel. Actually, I ran into him coming out of Oslo Konserthus when I was going to see some of my favourite musicians just last year.
And apparently he's quite close to them. So that raises him a lot in my opinion as well.

Re: favorite Singer
he's close to who? i saw Aha live btw, their last concert or something. not by choice.
i think he has a good voice, but he just ends up doing the same.. i think all his songs sound the same
all right singer i s'pouse.. but anyone can stumble up into a falsetto and make it sound cool, just narrow eyes and stare longingly into the distant..
I like Magne from aha a lot better
much nicer guy ^^

Re: favorite Singer
Not really sure what my "correct" answer would be. But Ann Wilson is a pretty good choice, I think.

David Crosby and Graham Nash.

Also I sat a couple of seats away from Lars Lillo Stenberg. And there were a couple of other people like that as well. Bit of a who's who of norwegian popular music.
Yeah, he's alright. Not sure I think his singing is all that special, but he's certainly made a decent living of it whatever we might say.

Come to think of it, there's even a video from that concert here:

I am the same, music doesnt really interest me. I dont buy it, the only record I ever bought was Dark Side of the Moon, and LOTR cd soundtrack. I listen to it while driving. I do love classical music though and have been to concerts, but not for ages. ok I like a good film soundtrack and I notice it but i dont buy it. I was hopeless at music at school, cant stand listening to the radio either, I prefer silence so I can think.

Re: favorite Singer
Singers ey? Hmm...
Sivert Høyem springs to mind. Both with Madrugada and solo. That voice... *purrrrs*
Kurt Nilsen also has a fantastic voice. (You know, the guy who beat Kelly Clarkson @ world idol.)
Kurt Nilsen & Lene Marlin (she's really something as well)
Marit Larsen is angelic
Emilie Nicolas makes my soul happy. (Oh that high note... )
And I am currently deeply in love with Marina & the diamonds.
