{{{{{ Now where to start? I know- its a Who thread- I'll start with something that is annoying me! Well sort of, I am annoyed about it, but mainly it just doesn't make any sense to me- Michelle Gomez has been nominated for a BAFTA for her performance as Missy- and this is all well and good, I like her and I like Missy. So well done Michelle and congratulations.

But how on sweet earth can they nominate Gomez and ignore Capaldi? Not even a nomination- you have to be kidding BAFTA What are you thinking? You honestly think Gomez's one episode appearance is worth a nomination but Capaldi's critically acclaimed, fan-raved about, monologues going viral series long performance is not? I am baffled at their decision making process. }}}

Saving it for his final year or something perhaps?

{{{With any luck his final year will be a while yet I just don't get the thinking. I could understand them not nominating the show at all, they've ignored it before- like most mainstream awards they are a bit snobby on sci-fi and always give the impression when it does win that they are holding their noses- and I could understand them nominating Capladi but not Gomez (Capladi being more an industry player, with a directors Oscar under his belt ect), but the other way round seems just weird.
She was only in the opening episode which means thy also thought her one performance there as a supporting role was worth an award more than Coleman's performance all series was, and I'd disagree there. Gomez is great as Missy but the Master is and always has been a pantomime scenery chewing over the top character, its not the sort of role that usually gets nominations- Simm never did for playing the Master for example. Just seem odd altogether. }}

that's weird. I mean Gomez is ok but srsly BAFTA? Capaldi is way better.

Yeah agreed, Gomez is great...but was she really any greater than Coleman or Capaldi? Did they watch his performance in Heaven Sent or the Zygon Inversion?
