You would be correct. I've watched one or two episodes and enjoyed them. They always seemed to be on late at night in the UK. Now I feel like I've missed something.

We have a special big hammer for trolls. But there are some knocking about- most notable Bear Murdoch, proprietor of Pure Publications who make the Forumshire's no1 newspaper the News of the Pure, sponsored by buckie.
But its best not to cross him, ever, not even from a great distance (if you dont find yourself the centre piece in a troll sandwich you could suffer a worse fate, like having his law firm Angmar and Sons set upon you dig up all the dirt -or bring their own if none exists- and spread it across the  centre pages of their next issue pale).

ps meant to say before- love your name Very Happy

Well, nothing is perfect, there's always one. In my experience trolls are rarely intelligent. If they are intelligent, then they have a major flaw in their personality. Eventually, it will surface and become obvious. Which is precisely why observing a troll is better than feeding it. Actually, I find trolls generally have similar traits, like not knowing the difference between your and you're. It's uncanny, I see it, time and again.

Pleased you love the name, I do too. It's an alias I've used for a long time. Smile Actually, I've only seen other people who use it a handful of times. The most memorable was in a forum shortly after I joined. Mr Angry sends me pm to inform me he was the one and only Duncan Disorderly. Then, he crossed the line, he told me to change my name. I laughed, then replied, saying I understand why he would think he was DD, however, I didn't think I was DD, I knew it. Therefore, I'll allow him to use my name, instead of being a drama queen. We never became friends.

That was disappointing. Mainly because I stumble across another DD, only to find out he's an asshole.

When talking trolls I should also mention Fjordianland of course.

We have a surprising, and some might say suspicious  Suspect  given their Viking nature, number of Fjordian members, including the sweary and ice bound northern Norc, or with her recent absences the Lesser Norc as her rare species is becoming known, and Norc's friend and fellow sweary northern ice dweller, who um, Im too drunk to remember the name of and to lazy to go look it up right now,  they head up the musical and profanity department, and head of Forumshires other Law Firm, Bluebottle, and most prestigous Ambassador Amarie of the Dark Planet (thats  a whole other topic) , and possibly some  I'm forgetting who are Fjordian drunken  and possibly lastly and most appropriately to this topic, Ringdrotten, who resplendent in his pink Fjordian soldiers uniform, beneath his rainbow banner, protects Fjordianland from the scurge of the troll. cheers

Maybe we should do a guide book for newcomers. Very Happy

Thank gawd we're both a bit drunk, since I struggled a bit to understand that post. lol

It sounds suspiciously like forum politics, I could be wrong. Either way, I tend to avoid picking a side and prefer to remain impartial. So far, it seems to be the best option that works for me.

That said, I'm fairly confident in my ability to give as good as I get, if someone crosses me. Otherwise, I'm too chilled for conflict.

Oh, there's no sides here.  A suspicious - perhaps alarming - number of Fjordians, to be sure, but no sides.  Squabbles between Petty and Figgy don't count: that's purely marital. ( Sofa )

And I don't think HuffJuff is sweary...seems to be a good gentlehobbit in fact.  I gather he's somewhat largish so has no need to clear his way through a room by ringing the ears the way our Norc does.

This is why we need the guide book!

And not to worry, its not politics or sides, its more Forum narrative. Fjordianland is the forum name for Norway, Fjordians Norwegans, which as I said we have a lot.
We also have Australians, So Foumshire also has a Ozhobbitstan, and of course there are the every proud, flag waving UShobbits, I think you can guess who they are with their guns, farmlands, and mathematicians. And noblest and most drunken and most crabbit of all Scotshobbit where I reside in my buckie barrel. drunken

And whilst in Forumshire all its members reside in the town of Needlehole, where the Ambassadorial mansions are, the Admins Tower of Lore, the NotP press offices, the Town Hall, the Muck n' Duck pub, the Fjoridan Bar, the buckie brewing wizards, the havens to Queen Tin in Valinor, and Mrs Figg's Eel Wrangling shop, bustle fixing, and things for ladies of a discrete nature shoppe. And the whole is surrounded by the farm lands of Farmer Dave, and his suspicious vegetables, and Needlehole Public Park, with its massive erection in the form of a statue of Admin Eldo.

Stick around long enough if the notion doesn't by now terrify you Very Happy and as people get to know you better you will find that you have somehow become a part of the lore and story of Forumshire as recorded in its fan fiction, poems and newspapers.

He claims to have moved around a lot. Just browsed through half his posts and only spotted one swear word, figured that was enough to prove the point. Perhaps he's more of a Northern transplant? scratch

I see you have a good soul and mean well. Very little terrifies.

Apart from... cockroaches. Even the word disgusts me. I hate the bastards. Grew up in New York City. Not a great place for my phobia. lol

So, I may be part of a lore, my life will be recorded in newspapers, my name will be put up in lights? Again? Everywhere I go. Fame seeks me out and I am forced avoid it. This must be what it's like for that Justin Beaver. Great singer. Never heard him sing myself.

See? I suspected I missed the kinky significance.

I like your conclusion. It suggests an analytical mind. Fantasist indeed. You are a realist. Not fooling me. Wink

I don't think it will be all that bad - 6-8 inches in one day, maybe a foot total. Manhattan especially is hardened against weather since so much transportation is underground, and most grocery stores are within a short walk. Schools almost never close due to weather, and our past mayor was very proud of saying the country could not afford to have New York City shut down for even a day.

I'm seeing predictions of up to 2 feet now, but that really isn't such a big deal. It may shut things down for 1 day, tops, and slow things down for a couple days. But it's a threat to the economy, not to health or even much to safety...at least in Manhattan. It's people living out in the country (or most cities include NYC outer boroughs) with above ground transmission lines that may be taken down by snow laden trees who need to worry. Being in the cold without electricity is no joke.
