Thinklings

Aah there you are fellow guys... I have started this secret thread so we folk can have proper intelligent conversations. Calling it "Thinklings" will fool the girls of course. They'll no doubt see the word "Thinklings", notice that "Think" is the key portion of the word, yawn, and move on. Clever, hey?

This thread is for Thinkers (i.e. Males). Feel free to come up with any deep and philosophical subject.... err... can't think of anything just now...

I'm curious as to your opinions on a matter that has been troubling me for some time, Odo, since I know you are a highly respectable Hobbit. I know we both strongly value respectability and tradition, and it has been troubling me that I know women disproportionately vote for so-called "liberal" groups that want to dispense with tradition (probably funded by Peter Jackson ). Should we reinstate limits on the right to vote in order to keep society on the straight and narrow?

My goodness, how did you find out about us, Baingil? Oh well, the damage is done. I dare say some liberal among us spilled the beans - GB perhaps?

As to women knowing their place, all I can say is that the ladies of my circle, my niece Mirabella, and my wives, Bella and Primmy, know their place. We don't forget the Patriarchs around here! But as to respectability and tradition, Mr Freedom, it is surely up to the good folk, like you and I, to promote "goodness" at every turn, whether day, night or very early in the morning (which is when I usually get woken by raucus singing and the horrid noise of cats being strangled - or it might be bagpipes). All I can say, Mr Freedom, is we must not give in to slackness, casualness, nor fuzzy thinking --- that is, to liberality!

Oh, is my early morning practicing on the bagpipes disturbing you? Oops.

And as for finding out where this was, well, someone once told me not to judge a book by its cover. So I guess I shouldn't judge a thread by its title. Seems to work pretty well as a philosophy for nosiness.

The cunning thoughts of women! Unpredictability, that's the main problem! And prying... yes, that's right... Fancy being proud of that?


Mr Freedom, see the problems I face here! Start up a perfectly respectable thread and before you know it, we've got the fairer sex messing things up. Disgraceful, what!

Interesting? Maybe on the Girlie Gossip Thread it could be termed that way, but this, my good lady, is the "Thinklings" Thread. This conversation does reveal though why this is no fit place for a lady! I mean it kindly!

Ah, well. I prefer the environment here, anyway. Girly thread doesn't have enough intellectualism to spoil.

I'm more amazed they got in Odo- thats some handshake you've got on the door, might be quicker if I bring a step ladder next time.

Maybe you need extra security, something the women folk would never be able to pass- like wiring a plug or putting up shelves. Or having a conversation for more than five minutes thats not about them. Something like that. Here to help and all that!
