Pfft! In the UK, 13 is old enough (not legally, but culturally, it seems), most of my friends at school got bored with Drinking before we were legal-not saying that is something to be be proud of, but Brits are big drinkers.

Thanks all. I can't stay to comment right now, but I really appreciate all the birthday wishes. 
A quick update from my end: Otakon had some unexpected technical troubles during pre-registration yesterday, coupled with a longer line than any Thursday before due to unprecedented numbers of pre-registrations after they instituted an attendance cap, so we weren't able to pick up our badges last night. Instead we woke up at 6:30 am, had breakfast in the hotel restaurant at 7, and got in line at 7:30. Even though the doors weren't scheduled to open until an hour later, the line was already into its third circuit around an entire city block. We got inside two hours later. I ended up taking a power nap in the mid-afternoon to recharge and came back to the room for meals as well since the convention center food sucks, but now it's back out again for the nighttime events.
