I'm hoping she comes back still- that cat and I have been through a lot together or to be more precise that cat saw me through a lot when I might otherwise have lost the plot.

Hopefully she'll turn up.
I remember hearing this story of a dog falling of a sailing ship outside Australia with everyone suspecting it was lost to the sea, only for it to run into it's owners garden over a hundred miles away inland 3 months later.

She is back!! 
Not sure where she has been, she was covered in mud and looked like she had been through several hedges sideways as well as backwards, but she is back (I suspect she hid from the storm in one of the sheds on a building site just along the road and got trapped- that would explain her not escaping until today at least as they weren't working over the weekend or this morning due to high winds- I noticed they'd started up work again however about 15 minutes before she arrived howling at the door).
I sign of her distress was she let me wash the mud off her without her usual response to a forced washing, which is to attempt to prevent it by clawing both my eyeballs out!
But she is now clean, fed and happily curled up on her favourite spot gently snoring.

I quite agree- I dont have cats, I have three flat mates who happen to be cat shaped! (And having lived with the human type also I know which I prefer!)
