A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
I don't think so. The Harrenhal but was a lot longer in the book. The stuff with Jaqen was quite a bit before the escape so she went from the reactionary killing in Kings landing to getting Jaqen to kill people to doing it herself over quite a time. That made some of the stuff with the hound at the inn (if that is what you mean) seem more comfortable and natural.
I think the changes on screen are due to overall compression of the story, so it fits with what they are doing are doing there. But the book flows better over the longer time frame I think.
Re the actual series... It is good. I think the actor who plays joff does it well. I don't want Sansa to die as much as I do in the book. They have altered her story a little bit. I like Arya and Tyrion... although again Tyrion has less time to being as funny on screen.

could be compression. But I find the series Arya very satisfying to watch. I liked to watch her transform from the scared little girl in Harrenhal to that smile in the inn. Tyrion is great, he is probably my fav, but he and Bronn make a great duo.

nope. I only read the first one. Is that a crime worthy of having my tassels thrown in a dungeon to rot?

What?! You've been listening to Arya too much.
Sansa's somewhat annoying in the books, but grows in strength and character. Strangely, she's the only Stark to have her direwolf die and not follow soon after.

She is also a whiney, annoying stupid child in the books and is actually the cause of her fathers death. Then she just becomes stubborn and more annoying.
Figgy - we shall get those tassels off somehow!! And I was just checking before I said something spoilery which I will now not say.

I wouldn't say she caused her father's death. After telling Cersei what he knew he wasn't going to see the light of day anymore in any case. Sansa was fooled into a plea bargain which Joffrey interpreted his own way.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
I would.. she forced Cersei's hand. Who knows what could have happened if Eddard had had the time he needed?
Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
I don't remember the details clearly enough. Will have to look. Hard looking up things in those damn books, they don't have descriptive chapter titles.

- Spoiler:
- during the Theon close shave scene I was muttering, DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!!!! not very ladylike but that guy is on my list. Also I thought Bran's hallucination scene with the tree was gorgeous, beautiful colours and images. As for Joffrey the little shit had it coming, but WHO DID IT??

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
Finished book 4 a few days ago, and I got to agree with everyone who has said that it's nowhere near as good as the first three. It's enjoyable, but that's mosty because you, as a reader, come to love the world and the characters (though some of course you hate), and reading a chapter from Westeros is just enjoyable whether something happens or not. However, if book 1 had the pace of book 4 I think a lot of people would quit reading before they reached the end of it. Now I'm looking foward to a book with interesting characters and no Cersei

No, she's the other half of the commentary, the character threads are split between books 4 and 5.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
Don't worry, I would've said so if there were spoilers I don't know if Cersei is in book 5 or not, I just hope and believe she isn't as she featured so heavily in book 4, and book 5 is supposed to be about all the characters that aren't in book 4.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
You are right about the pace of book 4. Sometimes I am not sure I want to read a chapter or just do something else... I still want to know what has happened and there are some characters I still like that haven't been killed yet... but some feel like a slog to get through.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
- Spoiler:
- ok I havent read the books so I dont know who killed Joffrey but I bet it was Sansa, I have 4 people pegged for possibles, Viper, margery, Sansa or Ser Sansa's friend bloke, but its not Vipers style, he could kill you face to face, Margery actually wants to be married to him/Queen, so its only Sansa who hates him enough, I thought it might be Ser Sansafriend but I bet he just helps her escape or something. So am I right?? Just the still look on her face at the banquet makes me think its her Revenge, I bet she is becoming more like Arya by the day. Another thing did Shae get on that ship? or is this just in the tv show? I have been thinking about how I would like the story to end. I would like it if Dany invades Westeros and sits on the iron throne, but she realizes her place is in the South with her people in Mereen? she goes back to control her Kingdom with her consort Ser Jorah. Before she Leaves Westeros for good she gives the iron throne and Kings Landing to Sansa and Tyrion who have grown to love each other, to rule, then she makes Arya Queen of the North and she goes back to Winterfell with her little brothers. Jon however realizes his place is with Ygritte in the frozen lands. Dany gives each Queen a Dragon as a sign of peace and friendship between the various kingdoms. One dragon for Arya one dragon for Sansa and the biggest dragon for herself.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
Not all of it.... some of it I don't know yet from the book. But some of it is.... but isn't that part of the charm? I am sure you didn't want the events of the Red Wedding to happen.. but all part of the fun!!
