The current movie Gatsby was far more passionate than previous movie Gatsbys. I'm willing to say Leo was as good as Redford, and though the current movie was bombastic rather than refined (the earlier movie was refined into sweetness), it fits the jazz age better. Actually got me reading the book (over the hump of ennui) and I'm impressed at how close this movie has stuck to the original.

hi halfy.
You're afraid your affections for your dog may conflate with amorous yearnings for the newest Mr Gatsby and whirl into new and uncharted territory? I appreciate your concern and you have my sympathy. Ha.
Oh, and hi norc.

That's true. The Columbia River is technically over 1200 miles long, but it looks like you can only get a ship about 450 miles up it. For comparison, the Thames total length is listed as 215 miles and seems to be navigable for about 70 miles. The total volume of water flowing out of the Columbia is about 120 times that of the Thames.
Our ships will only be going a little over 300 miles up the river to Pasco.
And for now I'm back to farming for a while....maybe.....

This may give a sense of scale. One of the white spots on the river is a ship. the white spots on the bank are houses and cars.
