Only problem is his beard pupes would probably get everywhere.
Re: Ahoy there Matey- Farmer Daves ship
I thought he had shaved his beard off?

Not as of the (really awkward) Desolation of Schmowg preview.
Re: Ahoy there Matey- Farmer Daves ship
Oh, I haven't really been following anything hobbit related since last December.

Re: Ahoy there Matey- Farmer Daves ship
I only watched it the other days in the throes of agonizing procrastination/boredom.
Stephen Colbert was predictably cool but other than that I sort of wish I hadn't watched it. It was just really lame.
I haven't really thought much about The Hobbit lately tbh.

Re: Ahoy there Matey- Farmer Daves ship
I'm guessing this is our mid-life crisis in our five or six year relationship with these movies.

Re: Ahoy there Matey- Farmer Daves ship
Probably. I'm still hoping that Schmowg will be a more entertaining film but I don't expect much.
I'm sort of more worried about what will happen to the Tolkien fandom after the movies are done. The Estate exhausted its supply of posthumous Middle-earth publications in 2007 and it's very unlikely that we'll see future Tolkien movies. We're probably going to end up like the Harry Potter fandom after that franchise conclusively finished. On the other hand, the shriveling up and slowly dying process has already affected a ton of forums and we've escaped it so far, so I hope that we'll be able to outlast the films since we have a lot of other topics of discussion.

Yeah, it's one of the defining geographical features of the Pacific Northwest.

Re: Ahoy there Matey- Farmer Daves ship
Wikipedia wrote:The Columbia River is the largest river in the Pacific Northwest region of North America.[9] The river rises in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia, Canada. It flows northwest and then south into the US state of Washington, then turns west to form most of the border between Washington and the state of Oregon before emptying into the Pacific Ocean. The river is 1,243 miles (2,000 km) long, and its largest tributary is the Snake River. Its drainage basin is roughly the size of France and extends into seven U.S. states and a Canadian province.
