I agree about Baskerville, its a classic gothic horror story, unfortunately gothic horror doesnt seem to have translated well in these ironic times we live in, and not in that modern setting, it can go down the pastiche road and walk through the gate of kitsch and knock on the door of parody to say Hi.

of course it is, Moran isn't in the show, but he is Moriarty's killer thing and yeah, in the book. (of course it's a ship! it's the sherlock fandom they ship Mycroft and Lestrade even though they've never met!)

the fun thing is mormor means "grandmother"

you know, i actually really love the new Elementary Sherlock. I mean it doesn't feel like sherlock, he's not mystique enough and he isn't surprising and it reminds me of CSI and he well.. watson tries to figure too much out, it's just to much explained and the plots are kinda basic, BUT it is fun and clever and witty and i likte the actors, Johnny Lee Miller is amazing and Lucy Liu, i like her. their relationship is kinda not traditional male-male bromance, but i will never see them as lovers, they have a friendship. I still like BBC the best and think PBS handled Irene poorly (why would he have a breakdown and do drugs because of a woman? i mean, yes admire and respect, but? but akbjskg! it's entertaining, isn't that what we want in the end.

I do feel that Elementary got better after the pilot but I'm not enough of a TV watcher to stick with the series. I've never been intrigued by the little CSI I've seen either, if that means anything. Shrugging

My mom decided that she wanted to watch Elementary tonight, and since we were just talking about the show yesterday and Norc had given it her endorsement I decided to watch too. We saw "A Giant Gun Filled with Drugs", mainly because I'd heard good things about it, and I have to say I actually really enjoyed the show. The directing still comes across as a little amateurish compared to cable productions, but, well ... I enjoyed it. It was only one episode but I have to agree with Norc's assessment of the show. (I'm as surprised as anyone else given my many doubts about the show when it was announced. Razz)

CBS, not PBS. A world of difference because PBS is the equivalent of the BBC but without the strong government funding.
(NBC, ABC, CBS are pure corporate and basically indistinguishable).

yeah, sorry they're all called the same, i mix em up x)

yeah, elementary is good, not great like Sherlock which blows your mind every third second and always surprises you, but it certainly is enjoable and i like the humour. also, there are some sherlock qoutes(book) there too.. and watson works surprisingly well.
