Petty's Purist LotR Edits [2]

Dont mind having a crabbit moan about stuff here- they are used to it with me around the place.

My edits are only available to those I give access to my skydrive too- this is partly to protect myself as I am not trying to make money or anything else out of the films, so I tend to only make them avaialbale to members of this forum and to those I reckon have most likely already paid PJ and co several tines over in cinema tickets, dvd's and special editions.
Just pm me on here with your email- I need it to give you access. And I will set it up for you.

All going well and my xmas present to Forumshire should be ready by this afternoon (about 6 hours from now roughly).

A few caveats first- its a terrible picture and sound quality as you would expect- this is really only of interest to those curious to see how I would edit a purist version.
If you want to see TH best go see it a the cinema and watch this cut afterwards- that way youve paid PJ his dues and your first impressions wont be affected by the poor quality.
It is also missing about 2 minutes right in the middle of the unexpected party scene when they discuss Bilbo being the burglar.
And the sound synch is increasingly out from about half way through onwards (if you watch in vlc player just go to tools tab/track synch- and you can sort it manually as you watch- its over a second out by the end).
Also this is a rough cut- that not only means its by no means a final choice of cuts- but given the quality some cut are abrupt as there was no point worrying at this point about smoothness of sound ect.
Oh, one last thing you will need to manually set the aspect ratio to 16:9 or it will look squashed (video tab/aspect ratio/16:9)

Yep, so long as you don't sell it or your version doesn't destroy the draw of others going to the theatre I believe you are in your rights. Very good.

I reckon anyone who watches this cut will have seen it already in the cinema- given the limited number of folk with access and they are all from dedicated Tolkien forums. Its interest at this point is more academic than anything else.

If you can watch vids on windows media player or similalr then it shouldnt be a problem Mrs Figg. And shouldnt take long to downlaod to try- worse that happens is that you waste half an hour or something waiting to see if it will work.

Got to my skydrive Norc look in the folder called THroughcut and download the contents.

Talking skydrive, where are we with the mega edit, checked my pc and I have books 1-4, but no 5 or 6. Have I missed them?

Books 5 and 6 are on the second drive- you must have a link to it if you have 4 as it was split across both drives.
However I will be reupping book 5 over the course of this week so you might want to hold out for it.
And book 1 might be a reupped version since your last- if the version you have doesnt have replacment subtiltles over the Arwen bit when she first appears its the old one you've got.

tried my link for drive 2, but couldn't get in... not sure why. It is the old book 1 I have so may try to get that downloaded first and wait for new 5.
