Nah, those numbers were just generated by a site that sends out bots to trawl through thousands of other sites. They don't mean anything. Like CC said, our site is hosted and owned by Forumotion so I couldn't sell it even if I wanted to.

I note the april fools joke over on TorN is PJ getting the rights to the Sil- says something about PJ's fallen stock in Tolkien fandom than even on TorN the idea of him doing the Sil is so horrific they use it to wind folk up on April Fool's Day.

Eh? The only April Fools jokes I saw on the TORn blog was Disney buying out Saul Zaentz and PJ wearing glasses (not sure what the point of the latter was).

There seem to be quite a few people in that thread who seem regretful that a Silm movie is not forthcoming rather than being horrified at the prospect. That's hardly unusual or unexpected, though.

So I've noticed that often the Europeans are active during what is morning preparation time here, which should correspond to early afternoon there. Then they cut out mid morning here, which should correspond to mid afternoon there.

I would expect if someone's active early afternoon, shouldn't they be active mid afternoon? Where the blue blasted buggery do you folks go? Is there a conventional mid afternoon pub crawl I'm not aware of? scratch

Well, I would say it's a most progressive suggestion Halfwise. The pub crawl that is. If it isn't a thing, we should definitely institutionalize it. Nod

I can only speak for myself of course, but my schedule is a bit haphazard as they don't do all that much teaching at my faculty. I do have classes, but very rarely more than 2 hours a day and seldom 5 days a week.

As for anyone else who has a more normal schedule, I'm guessing mid to late afternoon is when everyone is begginging to think about heading home. Shrugging

No, late afternoon to early evening is when people should be thinking of heading home, which means mid afternoon is when they should be stuck to their computers intent on wasting quality work time by browsing the forum. I try to set a good example in this respect, but as far as I can make out most people are instead actually trying to do what they are supposed to be doing in mid afternoon. Shameful, I call it.

That certainly clarifies things. Cheaper than a continent-wide pub crawl as well.

(It occurs to me the only time we have a nation-wide pub crawl in St Paddy's day, at which point it's nearly impossible to get in a pub for all the crowds. I think the British Isles are better fixed in this respect with neighborhood pubs and whatnot.)
