I know this isnt a cat ! but, there are so many disabled pets, they seem to cope so well, better than some humans.

There's nothing wrong with a dog being a mutt, in fact I'd call it more praiseworthy than a pure bred.
If I could fit the personality and expressiveness of a dog into a cat's body, I'd do it in a heartbeat. The only thing I don't like about dogs is their smell and slobber. What I don't like about cats is often they don't communicate; they give orders. And then are pissed off you didn't understand the order. Oh, and shedding.

my dog doesn't smell. only when he's had diarea.. then he gets like dreadlocks in his ass... that is horrible.
I don't have anything against mutts, I rather have a mutt, they can have a bit more personality and they aren't all alike.. like poodles.. one cannot tell one poodle from the next.

In my experience, people who live with dogs don't realize how much they smell. But if you haven't lived with dogs, and you walk into a house with a dog (even if it's clean), the smell is like running into a brick wall with your nose.
I know from experience how desensitization works too since I started living with dogs (not by choice) a few years ago and I don't notice the smell very often anymore.

well... I wouldn't say that.. you smell cats too. but I guess it's like you don't notice your own smell either. But some dogs smell more than others. old/wild breeds smell less for example. and dogs with very oily fur smell... but i can agree, dog breath is awful.
