Re: RIP
I somehow missed the sad news that novelist James Herbert had died.
I loved his books in my teenage years.
He was the perfect andidote to reading Stephen King.
The Jonah was a particular favourite of mine, a horror/detective mytery, sort of.
Magic Cottage was another big favourite.
And of course The Rats, Domain and The Lair.
If you like a good horror story Id recommend his stuff.

Re: RIP
Its such a shame about Richard Griffiths, he was such a like-able person. I remember him from the TV series "Pie in the Sky".

Re: RIP
Frank Herbert's close friend Jack Vance has died. A truly one of a kind mind. Orwell will be in mourning, as am I.

Re: RIP
Not just a funny man but a clever one too- the production company he set up Talkback pioneered many a British comedy show and showcased tons of up and coming talent (most of whom are UK household names now)
