Every so often someone passes away folks feel they wish to acknowledge or pay respect or pay tribute to. So rather than making a new thread each time here's a place to say farewell.
And I wish to say RIP Erik Sykes- a great comedian- from the Goon Show onwrads he shaped modern comedy and even the sitcom format.

I couldn't agree more, a real comedy genius. Right now he will be up there somewhere sharing a pint and a laugh with the other long lost British greats; Cook, Sellars, Barker and Morecambe. RIP Erik

and if I am not mistaken he was also deaf, and managed to have perfect timing.

I remember seeing Tommy Cooper DIE on Tv, made me feel quite ill. People thought he was mucking about.
