Holidays and absences

A new year, a new summer holiday season for those of us in the northern hemisphere, and I thought it fitting to have a new thread for notifying the forum of vacations and absences. I'll be out of town starting tomorrow and won't be back until this coming Monday. I haven't yet decided if I'm bringing my laptop along for the plane trip, so I'll either be online infrequently or not at all. I trust that the forum is in good hands until I get back, though.

Also, next Wednesday I'm having my wisdom teeth removed, so I'll probably be pretty loopy on painkillers for a day or two. Please don't hold it against me if I post anything strange during that time.

Out for less than a week - what an amateur attempt at absence (5a)!

Starting the second week in July I won't be absent, but I'll likely be posting so rarely for the next month you may suspect I am. My life simply will not be my own.

It's a family trip and I wasn't that involved in planning the schedule, although I did end up hunting down the best deal for airplane tickets online, since the technology proved baffling for other unnamed members of my family.

I hope that all is well with you and yours, halfwise, and that you'll be able to return to us fully.

Oh, it's a few weeks until I evaporate, but it's all work related.

This will have to be my last post before I head out but I should have my laptop with me so I might be able to pop in from time to time. Don't expect too much activity from me though, behave yourselves, yadda yadda. I'll miss you guys and look forward to seeing you when I'm back.

you know what, Eldo, in Japan the word "yadda" means the same as "YES; I DID IT" or "YEEEEY!!!". which is rather fun because it means exactly the same here, only few of us use it. Maybe only if our car breaks down and we manage to start it against all odds and we feel we did something great.

I ended up bringing my computer and I do have an Internet connection now, but we'll probably be fairly busy. The plane trip went as smoothly as could be expected, although unfortunately on the longer leg, a bit over four hours, we were on a really cramped plane. The second plane wasn't as bad but that was only for an hour.

I'll have plenty of stories to bore you all with later, including how I fell in Lake Tahoe earlier and cut my foot, but I'll still be offline for the most part until I'm back home. In the meantime, I hope you all have been well.
