All these fires have actually made me worried about the future. This absence of snow and cold weather in our parts this time of the year is like something out of a horrorfi movie - it's creepy! One can only hope that this year will be an exception, but who knows if this isn't just the beginning of a new type of winter

My brother got accosted by May 21sters in DC once. I never had the joy of interacting with them personally, but following the whole apocalypse thing online as the date got nearer was one of the lulzier moments of 2011 for me.

I sometimes feel Christians put too much pressure on God. I mean, hasn't He got enough cares without folk like Jehovah's Witnesses (and a myriad others!) bullying Him into chopping and changing his decison making all the time!  

Ah, well spotted Halfwise. Well, if it was a PR exercise it's certainly seem to have worked.   

There is also that talk of the rapture with the Church f the Latterday Saints, isn't there. And that story about that man jumping from the top of a barn at just midnight because he was convinced the rapture would occure before he hit the ground.

I used to try to make a special post to mark any thousand-post milestone, but that's too much trouble these days (when I even remember the milestone before it's too late).  Though I do usually note it and take a screenshot for posterity.
