Drunken , naturally Eldo, and American. Probably more American than most American Proms.

When I was at school there was no UK prom tradition, you just got kicked out of school when you were old/drunk enough, no fuss, no mess.

But what with all the US students we had here wanting a proper prom, and for our part getting an idea of what a prom was supposed to be from US tv and film it probably ended up over the top in US style.

There are still certain people in his town whom I have only ever seen in a tux once in their life- at that prom!

Well I never had a prom so I'm a little bit jealous. But my only context for proms comes from movies and TV too so I have no idea how accurate those are.

Bit reluctant to weigh in here seeing as how I managed to bring a shit storm onto myself the last time I tried anything like it, but I'm sure Norc never meant to offend you Chris, and I think you're out of line here. And I really hope you didn't mean anything by your comment in the other thread, saying you were out of here. You've been here for ages, and I, like all the others on here, like you a lot and what you bring to this community, and I mean that. Things tend to get hot here, more often than on any other forum I've frequented, but somehow we always seem to fix things quick enough, and I don't see why it should be any different now, at least I very much hope it won't be.

Things does boil over for everybody at times. I hope this can be sorted.

Misunderstandings happen on forums, whats done is done and raking over old coals risks restarting the fire (and perhaps callng someone dumb too!). You didnt mean it as read by Chris, shake hands and move on with hopefully everyone still onboard. We've all been together on here too long to let a family spat become seriously sour I hope.

Nobody has anything to apologise for in a misunderstanding, that's why its a misunderstanding.  
But nor is there any point in continuing a grump after its realised it was a misunderstanding, regardless of the fact by then some things might have been said better left unsaid.
There is no problem that cant be solved with dialogue, or a really big stick.
